As it turned out he was able to pull it together and came across as a very well spoken, tough kid. However, he could just have easily completely broken down and he did nothing to deserve that. Its not so much the question that bothered me as the timing. Had he been given time to compose himself and decide whether he was up to answering questions and then decided to speak in the press conference then it would have been fine.

Reporters generally do what their audience demands of them, for good or ill. Stop acting like McCoy is some 14-year-old kid. If he's mature enough to make a decision such as passing up the draft to return to school, he's mature enough to handle a tough question or two.

 

 

Maturity has nothing to do with it. I think it is a matter of taste and class. I feel the questioning lacked both.

Her interview with Mack Brown at half time was also bad in my opinion. No feel - just spouting words from questions it sounded like someone fed her. She was uncomfortable in both interviews.

Texas deserved to win that game. Bama got conservative and it almost came back to bite them. That's why you never call the dogs off until the game is over. If the other team gets mad, then they need to go home and reevaluate themselves.

So you, and most other people are a completely formed, mature person as a senior in college? You didn't have different emotions and a different outlook on life at that point? Sure technically he's an adult. He's never been married or had kids or anything like that--I'd have to say that this was probably one of the top 2 or 3 biggest events in his life to this point and to not have the chance to see it through was crushing......That was obvious from looking at him on the sidelines--which made the question that she asked him ridiculous and unnecessary. He's an amature, he doesn't owe anyone an interview, if he wanted to go to the press conference and answer questions then fine--he didn't need to be ambushed on the sidelines like that. He handled it with extreme grace and dignity but he was an eyelash from not being able to even speak.....Would anyone have really needed to see that?
