I had no idea what his injury was and I had watched the entire game. I thought it was a good question. What else do you ask a star quarterback who got hurt on the 2nd play and didn't play the rest of the game?

What'd he ask? Not in the middle of the field before he's had a chance to compose himself. She started out by asking him how it felt to miss the game--which should have been obvious.

Most reporters don't go into an interview with the goal of upsetting someone. Some do, to be sure. But they're in the minority. Most reporters dread having to ask the "tough question," but still do so, because, as CC said, the readers/viewers/listeners want to know, and that's the reporter's job. Kind of like a cop having to work a murder scene.

Absoultely brutal. For real he looked like she'd punched him in the stomach. I don't think she wanted to make him break down, but let's be honest, that sure seemed to be the aim by someone.

Reporters generally do what their audience demands of them, for good or ill. Stop acting like McCoy is some 14-year-old kid. If he's mature enough to make a decision such as passing up the draft to return to school, he's mature enough to handle a tough question or two.
