Texas/Alabama updates

Featured Replies

Does anyone else's ABC go blurry on a return from a highlight? I have noticed this for a couple years but thought it was an HD thing. Now I have an HDTV and it still happens, but not on channels like CBS, FOX, ESPN, etc. Can anyone explain?

Same here. ABC sux. Thankfully, they have no NFL coverage.

Well congrats to Bama. This game was going to be a good one to watch. Night all.

Maybe UT should go to their wildcat type package and stay with it. Try something different you are losing!

I think I might just turn in for the night.

I wanted to watch a good game.

Well at least the SEC does it again! The SEC, IMO, should finish 1, 2 in the final poll.

For those who say Boise, I do not think they are any better than UC and we all seen that game.

If he was such a good QB while didn't Texas, A&M, Tech or any other big school in TX recruit him?

Well he is only about 6'0" 180 lbs. I'd say that would scare some of the bigger guys off.

Ok Kirk, we know the "game is moving too fast" for the freshman qb. You've only said it a dozen times so far tonight.

And you know what, he'll probably say it a few more times tonight. I've been there as a broadcaster, where a game is going horribly, horribly wrong for a team. What you'd really like to say is "this game is over, let's all go home"...but obviously you can't. And there's only so many ways to try and explain it...so you end up repeating yourself...sometimes a lot.

I hate that McCoy went down. I was looking forward to watching a classic tonight. Now it has turned in a classic beat down.

Few thoughts:

1. Not sure why this kid didn't get more reps through out the season.

2. Why did they not run the clock out before half after the play calling was conservative.

Or as BSU proved, he's not very good.

So a guy can't go to college and improve? If he goes to Texas, he's behind McCoy and Snead (who ended up leaving). If he goes to Tech, he's behind Graham Harrell. If he goes to A&M, he's playing for a bad team going through a coaching change.

He was the Houston Area Offensive Player of the Year. Finalist for Texas 5A POY. Third team all-state, throwing for 2,800 yards and 42 touchdowns as a senior. Led team to state championship game.

So it appears he was good in high school, then went to college and got better.

Again I ask: Can someone not have one bad game?

I agree. 17-6 would have looked alot better than 24-0. They would have been one play away from being in the game going into the 2nd half.

What is the DX on McCoy it has to be a seperation or break for him to sit out?

Yes, they can. McCoy did tonight he got hurt

He put up some solid numbers this year, so obviously he's doing something right. He may not be a Heisman winner but I don't think he a scrub either.
