Charlei Weis had a great resume also. I am sure though Coach Mullins is a great guy. Not a knock on him personally. Just saying stuff like what you do in college dont make you qualified to coach HS

Who else should be getting an interview? Of those that have been interviewed, Shadon Brown is the best candidate!

The job doesn't always go to the best candidate. From the info that I've received there are some who are very good coaches who didn't get an interview.

With the way the administration handled the Gandolfo and Turner firings, and this watered down list of candidates nothing suprises me there anymore. With the season Feldhaus is having, he should be next in line per the school's recent track record. The Central sports program as a whole is a joke now.

 

And I am not expecting Dale Mueller, Bob Beatty, or Dudley Hilton to leave their respective programs for this job, but Doug Carter is one of the finalists? Seriously? His record at Madison Southern was awful while playing a much much weaker schedule then he would face at MC. I have a hard time believing that list of finalists is the absolute best of the best who applied for job, with all personal agendas aside.

Opinion:

Carter is a good football coach based on his record and extensive experience.

Well one of the coaches they are not interviewing knocked the favorite for the job out of the playoffs and the other beat Madison Central 2 out of his 3 years he coached against them.

 

I'm not saying these two deserve the job, but to say they are not to be interviewed because they are a threat to the good ole boys is a joke.

When David Hensley was in 3A they beat Madison Southern every year they scrimmaged and he went 28-8 and Southern could not sniff those numbers. David went to Dunbar his first year was 10-3 District Runnber Up and Regional Runnber up and won another playoff game his last year. He won at least one playoff game 5 of his 6 years as a head coach and beat Madison Central twice in 3 years when he was at Dunbar and look at Dunbar now and the first of the two victories was on the Lexington UPN Live.

 

Johnny Hines has turned Pulaski County from a joke to a power in his tenure. He won the regional championship last year beating out Bert Browne in the first round of the playoffs. He has also been to the regional final in 2003 and lost to Boyle County in the middle of their title runs and a had a very close loss to Boyle that season in the regular season.

 

I want to say this, I am not saying these two should be given the job, but these two applied and are not given interviews and look at who is getting interviews. No one and I mean NO ONE can make me believe that Madison Central's staff is not trying to get rid of the big names so when they interview in front of the site base they will have lesser competition for the good ole boys to beat.

I think Browne will get this job. Him and the AD is tight. Browne is a good offense coach. Its the other side of the ball he has trouble with. I he can get a good D coach he will turn MC around JMO. Good luck to all the coaches.

Some of those names is really confusing? I thought Madison Central wanted a football program? Madison Southern is bad, bad and bad. It looks as if MC will follow suit.

I heard there was over 300 applicants from 5 different states. Probably a couple with state championships on their resume's. It will be interesting to see who they hire.

No Hensley has not, but in two years I dont think you forget the game and Doug Carter got an interview, what has he been doing?

Hines wasn't even given an interview? Wow. He has done a great job at PC over the years and they play an exciting brand of football. Give him the athletes that MC has year after year and they could be a contender in their region. I can't believe that he applied and wasn't interviewed. That says a lot to me.
