December 30, 200916 yr It was just a matter of when? How long until he finds work again? http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/bowls09/news/story?id=4781981
December 30, 200916 yr After reading some more on the scandal, I think I may have to side with Leach.
December 30, 200916 yr Texas Tech just wanted a reason to fire him IMO. After you see the actual places where James was kept during practice it doesn't look that bad. Just a crybaby that didn't get enough playing time and his dad was powerful enough to take a stand. Sickening considering all Leach has done for Tech. They are consistently competitive in the Big 12 with far less talent than OU or Texas. This is why college coaches should have NO loyalty to the colleges they work for.
December 30, 200916 yr Leach made a mistake and paid for it. You can't punish a kid when he has a concussion. His argument that the buildings weren't that bad and he had professionals ready if needed do not override the perception that the kid was punished because of an injury. Craig James certainly didn't it properly. He should have gone to Leach and discussed it before going to the administration. It smells of a power play and agenda.

Wasn't the kid told not to come to practice, or atleast that he wouldn't be able to practice? I know there were reports that he was try to test Leach's patience. I don't really look at is as punishment. He couldn't practice and wouldn't stay home. What more can you do? The story has changed alot since it came out. The James family lied, Craig James lied yesterday on TV acting like it was some horrible situation. I lost my respect for CJ and Texas Tech football.
December 30, 200916 yr I am not sure about this one. I am not sure if Leach did anything wrong? I'm with you on this one CoachBuckett.
December 30, 200916 yr ^I agree with you two. With all the details we've been given I can't put him at fault.

You might not look it as a punishment but the overall perception is that it was a punishment. What else could it be? If he didn't want him around he should have simply thrown him off the field.

If things were so bad according to Leach and James was such a problem, get rid of him.
December 30, 200916 yr None of us were there so it's all going on what we have seen. The letter from the assistant coach said an awful lot IMO. I think Texas Tech will regret this choice for a long long time to come! They had really built something there and if I'm a player I'm not sniffing that place with the lack of support for their coach. More than anything I feel sorry for the Soph/Jr's this year that have some very tough choices to make! I might be 100% wrong but this one looks like a spoiled silver spoon kid that didn't get his way. The shed was nothing like the bad picture I had in my mind either! Like was said before if you have bad headaches then the dark is a good place to be.

Sounds like a bad choice by T-Tech. They got rid of the wrong person. James and his lazy son should go play at X-box University.
