You would be kidding yourself if you think this is anything outside of football, baseball, and basketball.

I thought this was about the kids. And the kids are also in all of those other sports. That might have been the final straw but it is not the only straw that is breaking this camel's back.

lots of discipline measures. Basically you go to Buechel if you are a repeat offender, like a big repeat offender and you do serious stuff such as fight a lot or bring drugs into school. You take a timeout and go to Buechel for awhile, or you just get suspended but if that student lives in the home school area the school has to take him or her back. At Male and Butler they just kick those kids totally out of the school and never have to deal with them again. Or they look at their middle school records and decide that they don't want to accept them before they get there.

 

They should scrap Magnets and all this extra bussing and build another alternative school in my opinion. Discipline is what messes up the classroom experience and prevents the full learning experience.

 

 

IMO, then the thing that needs to be changed is the discipline system, not the magnet program. There needs to be a point at which a school can say enough is enough, and the kid cannot come back.

But thats public education. You have to educate them. No matter how much they don't care or don't want it.

What are the disciplinary procedures? There has to be a limit, otherwise schools like Beuchel wouldn't exist.

Bad example. The NFL (where you say parity exist) has been dominated by one team in the last four years. How could that possibly be?

That's my point, though. There needs to be a point where a home school can say "no" to a student, especially if they are continually disruptive.

They can't. We can't put every bad kid in Buechel. Its not big enough. And you can't kick them out all together. They have to be educated. Thats a national law.

Not much parity when one team has won 3 out of 4 Super Bowls and most of those years played against the same team in the AFC Championship. And the NFC Championship has seen the same team the last 3 or 4 years. And since we're talking massive amounts of money versus high school athletes, apples and oranges IMO.

Exactly. :thumb: I don't blame the public school system for doing something against this, finally. There is a stigma with private schools that needs to be cleared up and the KHSAA may be doing that with their latest proposal.

What is that stigma? You have made several allusions to some perceived misconduct on the part of private schools. Spell it out. Don't hide behind rolling eyes. If you have a charge to make, make it. A couple of years ago, everyone was "sure" that there was something going on with a player at Lex Cath. It was investigated and there was nothing there.

But that's against the law. Every child has the right to an education. (Whether they want it or not).

You can not spell out misconduct of other schools. You will be suspended or banned.
