I heard Beechwood just had a horrible practice. All they could talk about was eating turkey and playing call to duty. They haven't even looked at the scouting reports and just aren't ready for this game.

 

Lol, good one. Seriously though, do you think Beechwood will be able to practice tomorrow? It's a yearly tradition for Mayfield (On the years we make it to the semis) to practice on Thanksgiving morning.

I'm talkin far WKY not Hoptown or Bowling Green. I'm talkin Marshall Co. , Paducah, The far reaches of WKY. I dont think any of these schools in this area have ever played in a home game or visited a NKY team at one or the others home field.

Crittenden Co. came up to Beechwood last year for this same game.

Same for Beechwood. And the similarities continue on between these two programs.

I always loved practing on Thanksgiving morning. Gosh that brings back some great memories. We would always play Pikeville and beat them in the semis.

I know this doesn't qualify as northern KY, but if I remember correctly, I think Lawerence Co. made the trip all the way to Mayfield for a substate game in the early 90s. This is from the West Virginia border to the far western end of the state. FYI... for those who aren't familiar or just haven't looked at a map lately... Mayfield is only 30 minutes and 2 very narrow bridges (1 ferry ride) from Missouri. That's quite a haul. :walk:

I remember that. Lawrence Co had a heck of a team that year. We were fortunate to win that one.

It's a good 5 to 5 1/2 hr drive. They may want to leave by 11:00 or 11:30 just to allow for traffic or any probs that could come up. Have a safe trip. Looking forward to seeing a great game.
