This is will be a low scoring game. The long ride is critical, but I believe Beechwood will be prepared. I'll take Beechwood 21 to 19.

How many Bluegrassprepsters are going to make the trip to Mayfield? How bout a show of hands. Voice will be there, how bout his majesty Mr Guru and Mr. Bucklen and you other diehards. We could have a meet and greet if some of you want to.

Kick It to Shelton, he will be a good test for your special teams

 

I think two of the best punt returners in the state will be on the field Friday - I hear Shelton is special (no pun intended) and Vocke is a threat on every return as well for Beechwood. It really is amazing how similar these two teams seem to be. My gut tells me Beechwood's defense can hold Mayfield back enough for the win but with all their speed and big play ability, that is a serious challenge. I will hope Beechwood can hold back Mayfield's speed like they did Quan Weaver last year in the playoffs. Every time he touched the ball I held my breath waiting for him to break one, but he never did. I am rooting for Beechwood to duplicate that effort on Friday versus Shelton and company.

Where is Beechwood stayin? Neither hotel is great...Paducah would be 30 mins to stadium.

This ain't last yrs Beechwood. Speed teams haven't given Mayfield any trouble. Big, strong power teams is another story.

That will be the million dollar question as to what to do on this type of situations...as coming down the night before takes away from the long trip the day of the game...but then you run into the kids sleeping in different beds and making sure the players are able to get to sleep...as someone who was part of a state finalist team that stayed the night before the game it can be hard sleeping in a hotel room with everything else going on with different sounds...not saying that anyone is going to do anything improper...just that you get kids in a room and you get to talking or playing cards or having some one snooring can keep players up and not get a good nights sleep. It really is a catch 22 as to come down the day off or stay the night before...so I still say Mayfield has the advantage of being able to sleep in their beds the night before the game.

 

 

Should be a great game...but my gut says that Mayfield pulls this one out at home in a classic battle 24-21

Coming from a player that in the early 80's that didn't stay the night before our state championship game and went on to lose. I think you should stay. It can be used as a time for team unity and get away from all the distractions of Thanksgiving. Back then the State Championship game was always the day after Thanksgiving. Either way has it's advantages as Cardinalsvoice08 pointed out in previous post. With the experience coach Rash has being in these situations so ofter in the past I'm sure he will be able to find the best situation for this team.
