Crunch-time take everything he says with a grain of salt! He likes to give his opinion. But don't give yours or he will go off on you. He'll come back at me now with something crazy. This will be a heck of a game. Both of these teams are very well coached. And will have the teams ready to play. If Beecwood stays home and comes down a few hours before the game friday. Some will say you should have came down thursday. And if you stay all night the day before the same people will find something wrong with that to. To be in the game at the end of the 3rd qtr with Highlands says great things for BW. And to have someone say that that was about as bad as HHS could play could be because of the team they were playing. Good teams can make good teams look bad sometimes. Even Mayfield has had some big ups and downs the last three or four weeks. Losing one game at the end of the year. Some will come back and say it was because of the rain. But both teams had to play in it. Now I will say Mayfield is I'm sure a better team. But not that night. Maybe they just didn't match up well. Who knows. Turnovers is a big part of the game. And Mayfield has turned it over to much lately. They let CC stay in the game because of it. Mayfield is a great team I hear if they don't turn it over. But so are alot of other teams. So to say because of a few games vs the likes of HHS you get beat. You are a 21 point underdog. Highlands very well could be the best team in the state. Nomatter what class. The same can be said about Mayfield. Getting beat by Christ. Co and letting CC scare them. Mayfield has some really good guys on here. And they will tell you constructive things. And they won't argue with you. Ony discuss, which is good.

 

Good post, anything can happen in High School football, Fort Campbell came into Murray last Friday night thinking they would go away winning and it came down to the wire, tied with 25 secs to go. They were the better team and they found a way to win, but not before they were playing the game of their lives!!

Give me a break WKY. Read all my posts. Where was I out of line? Just because its my opinion they'll win by 3 TDs, does that make me a bad poster. If anything, I was the one that got attacked, but, never did I show disrespect for anyone or for there team. It's just how I feel it'll turn out. If this were a Highlands/Pulaski thread and someone said they felt Highlands would win by 21 to 28 pts, noone would say a word.

 

Not out of line at all...I was just tryin to lighten the mood... I hope they win by 5 TD's...everyone does have their own opinion, it's what makes BGP great...no sense in arguing with Crunch is what I was meaning to get across!

Ha ha both of these teams are red teams so I wonder which team your rooting for LOL I agree with everyone else. No matter what the records these 2 teams have played 2 very exciting state games. The 95 game was a great game to watch even though Beechwood lost. I don't see this game being any different. I think over the next couple of years this game is going to be one of the best rivarlys in the semi's even though they are so far from each other.

Get a grip, dude. I've shown no disrespect, just giving my opinion and why I felt Mayfield would win. I've not been out of line at all. Thought this was a message board for these type discussions, guess I was wrong. Guess it's a board for discussions only if you're a Beechwood fan and feel they're going to win. I pay my annual fee just like the rest, so, I'd suggest not reading my post if they're gonna get you all tore up. I'm sure Beechwood will show up & feel they'll have something to prove, just like Mayfield will. Can't wait to see it.

My opinion is: if they are defensive, they are probably worried.

Beechwood playing on grass might slow them down just a tad. I see where they play mostly on turf. The film I saw they looked quick and not overly large. They didnt seem quite as fast as us at least to my eye. I am cautiously optomistic about our chances at this point.

snakesnot congrats on your 1000 post. I've injoyed reading alot of what you write about. I said in an earlier post that in my heart I feel like Mayfield is going to win this game. Mayfield has things going for them. Grass field, playing at home , 5 1/2 hour trip, speed, having to stay in a hotel ect. But I do feel like it is going to be a knock down grag out kind of game. Good luck..

Slow day at work today so I came up with some other stats. These may or may not mean anything to anyone.....just numbers.

 

Combined record or Mayfield opponents 37-66 ( i did not count the teams they played twice, tx). Mayfield has played 2 6A schools, 1 4A, 1 3A, 1 2A and 6 1A.

 

Combined record of Beechwood opponents 70-74 ( again, i did not count the teams they played twice 2x). Beechwood played 3 5A schools, 2 2A schools, and 7 1A schools.

 

What does it all mean? Who knows......like I said, it's just numbers.....

What about the Tennessee team Mayfield beat? Trousadale County, the defending 2A state champ and its only loss this season is to Mayfield.

I hope that this is a great game to watch. I got a feeling it will be. I also have a feeling this will be a very physical game. I hope that whoever wins will be physically ready for the championship game. This game IMO is the 1A game of the week. The BATTLE of the North and West. This game won't be for the weak hearted fans. Smash mouth football at it's best.

Whoever wins the turnover battle wins the game.
