What kind of special teams does Beechwood have...Mayfield has a very good place-kicker and punter who is accurate from 45 yards in...and IMHO has the most dangerous punt returner in the state in the Shelton kid.

 

Beechwood special teams are excellent. Kick returners on kickoffs and punts have multiple TD's. Place kicker has a 50 yard leg. I would say as always in the big games with two top notch teams, it will come down to the line of scrimmage and turnovers.

 

LCA is PAINFULLY aware of how good Beechwood's Special Teams are... :irked:

 

2 years ago Amelung ran a punt AND a kickoff back for TDs; and they blocked an LCA punt into the endzone for a safety.

Going with Beechwood.

Mayfield will need to play better than they did friday night against Crittenden. They could very easily be watching this one from the sidelines. At the same time, I was impressed with how they kept there composure after a couple of fumbles and big plays by CC. They just kept playing hard and finally got things going in the 4th qtr. To me, this is one thing that makes this Mayfield team special. They played a little too conservative, imo, when they were having success through the air. Hopefully, they won't have to play catchup fri night, but, if they do, I will have confidence that they'll be able to come back and pull it out. I think this could be a high scoring affair and I think Mayfield will impose there will in the late stages and pull it out.. Mayfield 38 Beechwood 28...

Whoever wins this game can and might beat LCA in the title game if they don't get upset bye Hazard. Voice is Beechwood going down on Friday for this game or late Thursday night?

 

 

I believe the plans are to go down Thursday. So the long drive should not be much of a factor.

Go to youtube, you can see Mayfield vs Paducah Tilghman from this year and you can see the 05 Mayfield Bardstown game which will give you a feel for the stadium
