Yea....one of those games was a scrimmage 3 months ago and the other one you cite was played 2 1/2 months ago. A lot has changed since then!

 

This is high school football and it is all about match ups. Common scores of opponents never is a good measuring stick. Team A may be strong against the run and can stop Team B who is a running team, but maybe they do not fair well against Team C who has a passing attack.

wow I had no ideas that when X played Henry Clay it was just a preseason scrimmage game, yet we have people on here trying to compare that to SK playing them in mid season form that's funny...I'd say shutting a team out in preseason is just a tad bit different than playing them mid season...

St. X and SK are two very good teams; in fact, they are two of the best teams in KY right now. Both teams have some very talented players. The winner of this game will be in a great position to win the 6A title this year. St. X's football program is steeped in tradition, while SK's football prowess is a relatively new phenomenon.

 

I think everyone can agree on these points, no?

Last week I said St X could name the score vs Ryle.

Its funny that you say that, because I know I think SK is better than Highlands this year. It was a shame they didn't get to play in the regular season. SK is better than a lot of you want to give them credit for, and you will find that out Friday night.

Hmm I don't recall but I may have missed it...Just trying to contribute to the thread but thanks for your 2cents homer...I believe lots of things have been discussed on here before...I think you just hit a Grand Slam:clap:

Max preps also has St. X ranked in the top 10 in the nation, but no other poll I could find has them in the top 25. Most of these sites no matter which it is are just for looks, not alot of vailidity to them especially outside of the top 10-20 teams.

I understand people thinking SK will lose this game, I just don't think X will hold them to 14 points unless SK get dominated in the field position game. Last years team made it to the state championship with heart, not bc they were that good, this years team is good. Last years team averaged 28 points a game, this years averaged 49 and is much more balanced. St. X isn't as good as last years Trinity team IMO. I'm sorry no disrespect to X but if SK get's held to 14 points in the game then it's because they played horrible especially in special teams that's the only way I see it happening.

 

This offense has been held below 49 points just 3 times all season. I'm not saying they'll drop 40 on X, but I think they'll put up more than 14.

To be fair they didn't really play anyone on the way to the title game last year, much like Ryle in 2006. This year they do.

I wonder how Male fans feel about that? I guess you're line of thinking is that unless a NKY team beats X or Trinity to get to the finals then they don't deserve to be there? KHSAA should probably just exclude X and T from the first 3 rounds of the playoffs then have them play on opposite sides of the bracket in the 2 semifinal games. Atleast that way we know whoever makes the title game truely deserves to be there.
