October 30, 200916 yr University of Kentucky men's basketball student-athlete John Wall has been certified with conditions by the NCAA. The conditions are repayment of expenses and a two-game withholding, including the first exhibition game versus Campbellsville (Nov. 2) and the first regular-season game against Morehead State (Nov. 13). http://www.ukathletics.com/sports/m-baskbl/spec-rel/103009aab.html
October 30, 200916 yr Too bad he will miss a couple of games. Seems like much ado about nothing. "Go Cats"
October 31, 200916 yr How long until EKU gets put on probation because they were mad at UK? I'd say this qualifies as a slap on Wall's wrist.
October 31, 200916 yr The NCAA probably spent more than $700 checking it out. Let's see how long it takes for Mr. Forde to report this.
October 31, 200916 yr Sucks for the fans with tickets to those games. I have tickets, I am relieved that this is done with and at least he only has to sit out 2 games.
October 31, 200916 yr The NCAA probably spent more than $700 checking it out. Let's see how long it takes for Mr. Forde to report this. ESPN gave a sports update during the WVU-S. Fla game and said Wall was eligible to play after sitting two games and paying back money due to "recruiting indiscretions." Made it sound like Cal was being shady. Anyway, that's how the rest of the nation will intrepret it the way it was reported. This case has nothing to do with Cal, nor Billy Clyde either. UK can't win when they do win.

October 31, 200916 yr Interesting punishment. I was unaware that the NCAA could distinguish between exhibition & regular season games when it comes to suspensions. This sounds pretty fair. My issue with the NCAA was not their investigation or how they handled it - it was the thought of them not making a decision before the season began. Hopefully they'll make a decision on the other student-athletes who have eligibility questions quickly. Lance Stephenson, Renardo Sidney, et. al. It's not fair to the coaches, schools and most importantly, the athlete themselves, to make them wait like this.
