October 26, 200916 yr Arkansas consistently beats UK? Well Arkansas and Kentucky don't play consistently, but there's not a team that RP has ranked above UK that probably wouldn't be favored over UK on a neutral field other than maybe Miss. State.
October 26, 200916 yr Well Arkansas and Kentucky don't play consistently, but there's not a team that RP has ranked above UK that probably wouldn't be favored over UK on a neutral field other than maybe Miss. State. Valid point.
October 26, 200916 yr That is the two way street of college football though... how does that Top 10 talent get there in the first place? Are you kidding me? Recruiting and coaching are two different things. Case and point Tommy Bowden and Clemson. C'mon OR, I know you can do better than that.
October 26, 200916 yr 1. UF 2. Bama 3. LSU 4. USC 5. Ole Miss 6. UT 7. UGA 8. Arkansas 9. UK 10. Miss St. 11. Auburun 12. Vandy I hadn't really gave this any thought, but when making my list I got stuck after three. There's a huge drop off after LSU IMO. Really a huge drop after Bama. After the top three the teams are really mediocre.
October 26, 200916 yr Are you kidding me? Recruiting and coaching are two different things. Case and point Tommy Bowden and Clemson. C'mon OR, I know you can do better than that. :idunno: Richt has done much more with his talent than Bowden did. Richt has a solid resume, no way around that one. He is a very good coach and one of the most consistent around.
October 26, 200916 yr 1. UF 2. Bama 3. LSU 4. USC 5. Ole Miss 6. UT 7. UGA 8. Arkansas 9. UK 10. Miss St. 11. Auburun 12. Vandy I think this is the list I would come up with just swap UT and Georgia.
October 26, 200916 yr How can anyone put UF second? They haven't lost, and beat Bama last year. To me, they don't move down until they are beaten.
October 26, 200916 yr :idunno: Richt has done much more with his talent than Bowden did. Richt has a solid resume, no way around that one. He is a very good coach and one of the most consistent around. Consistently 2nd rate in the SEC.
October 26, 200916 yr Author How can anyone put UF second? They haven't lost, and beat Bama last year. To me, they don't move down until they are beaten. If thats the case, how is UK basketball in the preseason top 10...you can't go by what happened last year. I think that Bama has showed the most consistency this year and they have played a tougher schedule so far.
October 26, 200916 yr 1) Bama 2) Florida 3) LSU 4) UT 5) Ole Miss 6) USC 7) Georgia 8) Arkansas 9) Miss State 10) UK 11) Auburn 12) Vanderbilt Obvious anti-UK sentiment here. To possibly defend "RockPride's" thinking, I must say that many in the Big Blue Nation are very optomisted considering that the current Wildcats are playing with two quarterbacks who basically have not played (Fidler and Newton), their best defensive player playing in the NFL (Jarmon), their second best defensive player not playing (Lindley), their most experienced linebacker on crutches (Micah Johnson), and their fastest player and best running back dinged up all over his body (Locke). I know it is sometimes difficult to be totally objective. Kentucky will need to play very well beginning this weekend to keep their two game winning streak alive.
October 26, 200916 yr What is so funny about his post? UK will get their chance to prove they are better than MSU on Saturday night. The other schools consistently beat UK, so until UK turns the tables, I see no problem with his poll. UT at #4 = The rest is fine with me..
October 26, 200916 yr Consistently 2nd rate in the SEC. 4 SEC East titles and 2 SEC titles in eight seasons disagrees with you.
October 26, 200916 yr I'd like for those that think Alabama is better than Florida to tell me why. Please don't give me the "Well, last year is last year" argument either. Alabama has just as many holes as Florida-neither have many. It's a two way street, you guys make it out to be that Florida is just going to be demolished in the SEC Title game. Also, apart from Running Back and Wide Receiver, which positions are Alabama better than Florida at? Aside from that: 1. Florida 2. Alabama 3. LSU 4. Tennessee 5. Ole Miss 6. South Carolina 7. Kentucky 8. Auburn 9. Arkansas 10. Mississippi State 11. Georgia 12. Vanderbilt
October 26, 200916 yr :idunno: Richt has done much more with his talent than Bowden did. Richt has a solid resume, no way around that one. He is a very good coach and one of the most consistent around. 12 Conference Championships and 2 National Championships say otherwise.
October 26, 200916 yr 4 SEC East titles and 2 SEC titles in eight seasons disagrees with you. No National Titles or Titles appearances agree with me. Georgia won SEC East Titles when UF and Tennessee were down, there is no arguing that. Also, Bama was in down years in the SEC West, so their main competition should have came from Auburn and LSU during those years. Fine if you want to think Richt is a top of the line coach fine, but 30 years from now he will still have ZERO Titles, IMO. Georgia has Elite talent year in and year out. Good and Great coaches overachieve, Richt usually underachieves. Take last season for example, the Preaseason #1 with all kinds of talent turned into a joke that had to beat MSU in the bowl game to salvage their season. It's not that they got beat by some of the teams that they did, it's how they got beat. I can't believe anyone is defending him. Sure on paper his stats look good, but when you watch he is obviously overmatched in the SEC. Mark Richt is a joke like a Larry Coker or Ron Zook.
