October 19, 200916 yr Well Tubby got "shipped" and he should have. The Vest has no clue what it means to be good in 2009. Tubby and his assistants had no clue how to recruit and compete w/ the best in 07. He should adjust or leave. The Vest has a QB who can't throw that well but can run. Florida has a Qb that can't throw that well but can run. Meyer competes in 09. Vest competes in 02. He's still one of the top recruiters in the country. I have said for a while OSU has been adjusting to the new speed game, they are just young. TP came in very hyped but he was/is a run first QB. We are feeling his growing pains right now. Hopefully he goes on a streak here and puts it all together next year. OSU has Kent Graham's boy coming in next year and hopefully Braxton Kelly in 2011. I like the talent they have coming in and I really believe they will adjust the play calling as soon as next year.

He hasn't shown me an ability to adapt. For instance UC and BK went completely against what he believes in Thursday. I'm not sure he can recruit as much as oSU can recruit.
October 19, 200916 yr If he loses to Iowa, Penn St., and Michigan I'd say whoever the off. coordinator loses their job. And the vest will be on "probation". That's what my inside source thinks at least.
October 19, 200916 yr If Jim Tressel is on the hot seat, then so are about 100 other coaches in the NCAA. I loved Tubby Smith, but it is not comparable and the Vest had had a lot better run.
October 19, 200916 yr Id say it's more along the lines of. OSU fans getting tired of bieng called overrated, made fun of by the SEC, not beating top out of conference teams. And even their National Title under Tressel is questionable and made fun of. They have won the conference 4 years in a row but only to be emabressed following that. They have done alot, but they don't finish the drill so to say. They always get top recruit classes year after year but still don't win their big out of conference games? I still don't think he's on the hot seat. But alot of Buc fans seem to think differently this year. But truth is OSU fans has very high standards and once again they are not going to meet those standards this year. Iowa is coming on very strong with their program and so is Michigan. And Ohio States just seems to be going down to OSU fans.

Still sticking with UM at 8 wins, with one being over the Bucks. Yesterday didn't change that for me.
October 19, 200916 yr I’m not jumping off the Tressel bandwagon just yet. IMO Tressel is not the problem; a QB who can’t pass the ball is the problem. Move TP to running back and find someone who can pass the ball.

But before that, I am not sure there is a coach in the country you would rather have. I cannot believe I am defending the Vest. Besides this year against USC, I am not sure of what other big game they were considered to be on part with the team they were playing against.
October 19, 200916 yr Tressel is 88-23 at Ohio State with 5 conference championships and a National Title......not too shabby! Can't win them all.
