Sort of comparing apples and oranges here. There is no definite quantifiable way of determining who was better over a 9 year span. I do know that 2 of Tressel's losses in BCS games came in national title games. 2 more than Tubby can say. By year 9 I do not think many would question tOSU's team's place in that short span of history -- which is right at or near the top. UK on the other hand would not make that discussion, imo.

October 19, 200916 yr I get all of the frustration with Tressel not being able to win the big game lately and being too conservative with the offensive play calling. However, there aren’t many coaches out there who could win the Big Ten Championship 63% of the time, play in the National Championship 38% of the time, and beat Michigan 88% of the time. Bruce did not do that and Cooper wasn’t even close.

October 19, 200916 yr Tressel took a calculated risk investing into Pryor. He believes Pryor will lead them to glory. It is clearly not happening this year. Will it next year or the year after is to be seen. It's just like investing in the stock market however. Sometimes the fundamentals look good, but the value just doesn't go up.

Will it next year or the year after is to be seen. They should really abandon the stuff they try to do with Pryor. Why not just sell out to a complete spread type of offense? They mix it in there, but I'd go with more of a Rich Rod or Chip Kelly styled spread with Pryor.

The spring gameplan has failed. Pryor's confidence is low right now and what really hurts OSU is the lack of a big running back, which they feel they have coming in next year. Pryor is still learning on the job and I think at this point we just have to eat this year and hope to beat Michigan.
October 19, 200916 yr Well from what i've heard the current OC and OL coach, Coach Bollman will not return next year. The interesting part will be who replaces him. It won't be coach Hazell from what I have heard (the WR helping call plays now)...he is creative but doesn't have the resume. Now Tress will want a disciple... this is where a potential Tubby situation could come into play. The alumni and backers are going to want someone from the outside. Could be an interesting New Year, time will tell.
October 19, 200916 yr Jim Tressel can't get fired on the spot... If that were to happen I wouldn't want anything to do with Ohio State Football. He's done so much for OSU and been very consistent in having winning seasons and recruiting good players. He may be also consistent in losing in big games or bowl games but he's not the only person to blame. He's already got the sweatervest tradition, how can they take that away!!!
October 20, 200916 yr OSU has been the cream of the crop of a Big 10 that has been down. They have been exposed by true national powers such as Fla and USC. The power O gets so old and they have opened it up more than they used too but still behind the times some I think. The thing that's tough right now IMO: 1. They are pretty young I think. They lost A LOT over the last couple years although Fla + USC seem to reload. 2. Pryor is an athlete not a QB. I think if you stick him in Michigans system he is running wild but not with what he's doing at OSU. OSU has to decide adapt a system to fit him with more wildcat type plays or conitnue to try to make him fit their system. You see it time after time with Vick in the NFL running West Coast etc. It drives me nuts that these guys get paid all this money and try to make these phenominal runners passers. Whey not build off of what they do best? If they get anged up then you should have a quality backup at OSU to run your power O!
