Highlands does not "attracked" football players we "hatch" them.

You know what I find interesting....no where in my post did I mention the word "Colerain" or "Cardinals" and yet, every single one of you who responded attacked me or my team. I will take that to mean that no one has anything intelligent to dispute my claims and therefore, I must be right.

 

Either way, again, I say congratulations to the Bluebirds on a solid win over a very good St. Xavier squad. I will be sure to let me kids know that sometime before they graduate high school, they are now in pre-school, they should look for another Highlands win over a Cincy D1 power.

 

Oh...and Highlands is 0-2 against my Colerain Cardinals...so keep at it. You might have a chance to knock us off one day...maybe.

That said, Colerain has had run of a few good years. I remember when they were the doormat of the GMC not too many years ago. I'm betting Colerain returns to form long before you ever see Highlands have a losing season.

Colerain has actually done a lot better than "a few good years". We have NEVER been the dormat of the GMC. We have won 9 consecutive GMC championships and 10 out of the past 11. Only one year in the GMC have we not won the title.

St. Xavier doesn't have to worry about a "National Title" because they've already won one before and will win another before Highlands beats another Cincy D1 power, I guarantee you that.

Read my earlier post about playing in the GCL, we can't compete on a weekly basis. We did beat X every phase of the game. I didn't say we could play with Byrnes and STA! And yes I think we would of beat your Cards!:scared:

I watched the "#1" St. Thomas Aquinas Raiders play the "#2" Byrnes Rebels Saturday morning on ESPNU.

 

The stats are clearly in Byrnes' favor, but St. Thomas Aquinas won the game. It really got me thinking about how would Kentucky's top teams fair against them. Byrnes looked fantastic, losing only because of some key turnovers....but I still think that Highlands could have beaten either of these 5A teams.

So relax FT...

 

As for beating my Cards...whatever. I say you lose by 2 scores...there. Who's right? Doesn't matter. The teams won't play this year and therefore my guess is as good as yours. It's all conjecture except for two undeniable facts:

Yeah right. I'm not saying that Ft. Thomas doesn't produce an over abundance of fast kids. It does and that was on display over the weekend as even the 1st and 2nd graders were flying around Highlands in the flag football league. However, it is naive and absolutely false to say that Highlands doesn't attract kids from outside of Ft. Thomas. Just look at your All-State Players from the last 15 years. Then list their hometowns. No allegations, just stating the fact that the name Highlands (like Beechwood) attracts players.

I think one game a year makes sence. Noway would they or any other team in the state be able to compete with the GCL all season long. I doubt our schools are as big. And the Cincinnati schools have alot bigger pool to choose from. We can get them every now and then. And it feels good when a Kentucky school defeats a Cincinnati school. I doubt that the winning percent isn't very good Ky vs Cincinnati.

The score does not indicate "the woodshed" but the stats do!That does not include HHS playing the entire 4th quarter without their D1 QB . I don't consider 33-18 the woodshed either considering the size of the schools!! I hope you have a nice day, I'm going to make some kool-aid and watch the Birds beat St.X again.:

There is NKY/KY speed and then there is "South" speed. Two very fast DL for Byrnes going to UT. A qb for Byrnes going to RU. Then you have the true difference makers on STA.

 

No comparison. It would be ugly.

So, you're saying that Highlands wouldn't fair well?

 

I think that they could, if they play fundamentally sound football.
