I have to say I was shocked by UL's play. Truly thought they would get stomped. If they played that way all year may not be such a bad season.

 

Congrats to UK for pulling out the win.

That botched drive at the end of the first half killed them. They could have busted the game wide open if they could have scored a touchdown, but with the play clock foolishness and all that, they got a goose egg. Had to be a least a little of the reason they came out so flat in the 3rd quarter. I'll take a win, especially over a rival school such as this. I actually predicted UL to win this game. I am glad I was wrong.

You said that UofL had no chance, and that the game wouldn't be close. You were wrong. How can you argue that? :idunno:

 

Go look in the prediction thread I have 2 post saying it would be a close game.

While the above post reads well, and is intended to be noticed...it is riddled with inaccuracy.....U of L dominated most of the game, against a team with superior talent....a great coaching job by Krags....nothing more, nothing less.

Both teams will struggle, especially UK if they don't show vast improvement.

I think The Cards will be fine. Love the play calling that coach Krags did saturday. The wheel route to Vic out of the backfield was great call. As long as Krags stays agressive and con get some 10-12 play drives like he did saturday they will win some games this season.

I picked the Cards to upset the Cats...and with 5+ minutes left and "get away from the punt" I had a nice pick. Usually in a state rival game teams play too tight and mistakes in all areas can happen. I believe this was the case in this game. Good Luck to both teams and I hope they both make a bowl game.

Uk has not covered that route very well at all the last couple of years and have been burned for TD's or huge pick ups several times in conference games. UL must have picked that up from film study, if I was the opponent of UK, I would go to it more often because they never seem to cover it well.

I am amazed at the negative attitude displayed by UK fans after one "iffy" performance. Maybe, just maybe, UofL is better than you think and maybe, just maybe, UK is better that they showed. If I am not mistaken this team, virtually the same UK team as 2008, went to Alabama(about one year ago) with Hartline at QB and lost by less than 7 and was an onsides kick away from a possible upset. I think we need to get 4 or 5 games into the season to get a little clearer picture on the direction that this season will take.

 

Look at the positives to build on-Offensively, Hartline is completing 65% to 70% of his passes, Locke is healthy and making plays, Seiber is getting his kicks higher with better elevation and kickoffs haven't been too bad, Cobb is a big time weapon, Matthews is a big addition, overall running games has been pretty decent. Defensively, there are a few question marks for sure but this is pretty much the a similiar defensive team as last year-lost Jarmon, Kelly, Jenkins but added Warford, Guy and Evans-also Lindley and Micah came back. Many of Sarurday's issues are correctable. We definitely are not world beaters, but I certainly don't think the sky is falling like some. Patience. Patience.
