Averaged over 43 a punt against LaSalle. Punting will not be a problem.

 

While I wouldn't necessarily say CovCath's punting game is struggling, it isn't strong either, and Vocke is a big weapon on returns. Also during the Lasalle game, did they really avg 43 a punt? If so that's incredible given the -1 yard pooch punt and I believe one or two other poor or failed attempts. I don't think that was a good game to use as an example of CovCath's punting. I think it's improved since then. Who are they using?

I think the best 11 was referring to the best 11 current players vs CCH's best 11 current players. It had nothing to do with championships. :idunno:

Beechwood's sheer determination will keep this game close, but from what I've heard I don't think they have the overall team speed and skill level to pull out a W. Both teams are a little down talent-wise from what we all expect from these two teams, but Beechwood is down more and that will be the difference. I also think Cov Cath coaching staff is doing a great job of developing a game plan that works to perfection, as evidenced by the LaSalle and Campbell County games where they came out on their first 2 possessions and marched right down the field to score.

Don't forget to add his hang time. It has been very good. I'll take less yard on the punt as long as it gives the coverage unit time to get down field.

The 1994 game ended with Beechwood winning 19-10. CovCath had the ball with about 7-8 minutes to go and proceeded to run on just about every down, finally running out the clock. I ran into an old friend and asked him about the play calling and whether the CCH staff miscalulated the spread and thought they were down by 8 points and needed only one score. He said "no comment". I know CCH has had excellent coaching, but that was one strange series of downs.

Beechwood will still play like Beechwood and I believe they keep this a good game. I think Cov Cath still pulls out the W in the end, but look for a solid game. Beechwood will fight and make Cov Cath earn this win.

I remember the punt team had a bad snap which resulted in good field position against CC and a safety against LaSalle. They also had 2 real bad punts that resulted in good field position against LaSalle.

I agree. The Beechies will super hyped to play this game and it will be close game. This is a rivalry game and anything and everything should be expected.

Not really sure about PeeWees BAR… not a very thought out deal if you ask me or other parents. Taking children to a bar, is a bad idea. The logo is a drunken turtle for heavens sake. Whatever the reason, the setting is wrong if there is alcohol on the property!

duke42 have you been to PeeWee's? Obviously not. It's no different than an Applebee's or a TGIF. It is the most kid friendly place you will find.
