What a moron, you cheapshot a guy after losing a game then you start a fight with your teammates.:ohbrother: Then you try going into that stands after people. This guy shouldn't be allowed to sniff a football field this year.

I don't think the instigator should get any puishment on this one. How many times does this happen after a football game when teams are leaving the field?

 

Just because it happens, that doesn't make it acceptable.

I don't see any excuse for what Blount did. I was taunted before and have seen my team taunted after tougher and closer losses than this one.

 

The truth is Blount talked big, didn't back it up, and was humiliated by the Broncos. Instead of taking it like a man and walking off, he reacted like that.

 

I remember a CKY player scoring 6 TD's vs. Boyle and sliding in the endzone every time on his knees and turning around to show the Rebs the feat. No flag thrown any time. Nothing to be done.

 

Next year, he didn't score and Boyle shut them out. You want to get back at a taunt, go out and change it the next time around. :thumb:

Based on last night alone, the suspension is too harsh.

 

Based on these two alone I think it was too harsh.

 

I disagree. Half the season for the punch, the other half for trying to go into the stands after the fans. He had to be restrained by multiple security guards and some Oregon staff. If he would have gotten himself composed after the punch I don't think he'd have been suspended the entire season.

I still think a steroid test should have been done before the suspension was given.

My question is this: How is this different from the childish woofing that goes on in pre-game, and when those end up in fights? I'm thinking the Miami-Florida Intl. brawl, specifically. What kind of penalties did those clowns get?

He punched a Boise player, he punched a teamate, he went after fans and was fighting with police.

 

He deserved what he got. He is lucky to go to school free and try to earn a degree!

For FIU, of the 18 players initially suspended for 1 game, Marshall McDuffie and Chris Smith where kicked off the team. The remainder were suspended indefinitely and the University place them all on probation. I do not think any of them played the remainder of their careers at FIU.

 

For Miami, of the 13 players intially suspended for one game, 12 had to also do community service. Anthony Reddick (helmet swinger) was suspended indefinitely. As far as I can tell, Reddick was out the remainder of the 2006 season, all of 2007, but did play the 2008 season.

 

In the end, the brawl cost Larry Coker his job and forced Don Strock to resign.

Hate to see a kid loose his chances at the NFL over something so stupid. However, I agree with a lot of the people above that if he would have punched the kid and then called it a day he would still be playing. However, when he went off on his own team and then went all Ron Artest in the stands, he deserves what he got in this one. As a coach, would anyone want someone back on their team after they tried to fight their own teammates, the other team, and the fans in one incident? I think not.

I absolutely agree with the suspension, I also still believe that the Boise State player should have been suspended for 1 game.

Kudos to Oregon for doing the right thing. He already had gotten a 2nd chance and did nothing with it.....He doesn't deserve a 3rd chance just because he can run the football.

The Boise St player bumped him talking trash after an emotional loss and did it with no helmet on top of that. It's a very emotional game so I can see him decking him. Not saying it's right but with all that emotion and somebody physically touching him while running their mouth I can see it.

Why the heck none of Boise St teammates stood up for their guy is beyond me.

Supposedly he hit a security guard....I could lip read to see how bad that was. Going after the fans is a no no in all sports. I think that hurt him bad.

Did they go into the stands during the brawl you're talking about? Did anyone throw on their own teammate during that? I'd say that answers the question you posed. Oh and just saw it, but SwampRat had a good answer also.:thumb:
