IMO the Bosie player got punished by having the world see his knees get buckled on all the network TV stations all day long.

He was suspended the first day of summer practice for behavorial issues.

Based on last night alone, the suspension is too harsh.

Based on these two alone I think it was too harsh.

Had Blount just stopped after the punch and exited the field, he probably would not have canceled his career, but no, he had to get into it with the fans and his own coaching staff. Right there on national TV. He embarrassed the University and the University delt with it. Oregon suspended Blount, not the NCAA.

Whether Boise State suspends the player who said something to Blount is Boise State's issue. It has nothing to do with Oregon suspending Blount.

Watch the video. Too harsh? Hes lucky they didn't yank his scholly. Hes lucky hes not up on charges. Real surprised anyone wouldn't think what he did shouldn't recieve anything but harsh. If Oregons new coach doesn't bring harsh, he loses respect and credibility.

I've got no problem with the suspension. Especially given that he has a history.

The BSU guy should be suspended at least a game too though. He initiated it not only with the taunting, but looks like he hit Blount first. Just because he got hit harder, doesn't make his actions any less ridiculous.

There's a pretty big difference between a punch to the jaw and a slap on the shoulder

But there's also a big difference between just trash talking and trash talking while hitting a guy on the shoulder. He hit him on the shoulder, and then swiped at Blount's face.

I'm not justifying Blount, and his punishment was spot on. The BSU guy just deserves more than he got.

I agree. He should have got a game or two.

Exactly!!!:thumb::thumb::thumb:

Agree 100%, I would have done the same as Blount, Call me crazy or whatever....Somoene jump in my face like that, He should have to sit 1-3 games for starting it...

You would sucker punch someone when they have their head turned? Blount is a coward. After he hit the player he ran backward awful fast. Then he got brave again when he was being held back.

I don't see any excuse for what Blount did. I was taunted before and have seen my team taunted after tougher and closer losses than this one.

The truth is Blount talked big, didn't back it up, and was humiliated by the Broncos. Instead of taking it like a man and walking off, he reacted like that.

I remember a CKY player scoring 6 TD's vs. Boyle and sliding in the endzone every time on his knees and turning around to show the Rebs the feat. No flag thrown any time. Nothing to be done.

Next year, he didn't score and Boyle shut them out. You want to get back at a taunt, go out and change it the next time around. :thumb:

I don't think the instigator should get any puishment on this one. How many times does this happen after a football game when teams are leaving the field? The only difference in this situation is that someone threw a punch.

I would like to know what was before we blame the guy from Boise.
