Congrats to Boyle!

That's Paul Megilligan. He and Grant Aumiller give us a very very good defensive line. They were both great tonight.

 

I was really expecting to see JC run all over us tonight. I can't say I am overly surprised they didn't because I have preached about our great run defense, but I really thought they'd have been better than how they played tonight.

 

Is it safe to say that if Johnson Central can't run on us, no one will, or am I wrong for that?

I'm not surprised that I was wrong, but I am shocked at how wrong I was. If Boyle Countyhas any competition in 4A then the golden Eagles are in trouble. I don't think Johnson Central has much to worry about, they definitly ran into a very good football team.

I have to admit I was really nervous going into week 0 facing a hard nose running team like Johnson Central. I felt their size (JC) would cause the smaller Rebels lots of problems. Boy was I wrong. Just like I have posted before speed kills.

I have to hand it to the JC fan on the preview thread because he was right. He said "there's gonna be a lot of shocked fans in Boyle co. when the game is over". He was right.

Christian County might be able to run a little during the last regular season game because they'll have really good speed. Catholic could run some, but I expect them to pass more than anything against the Rebels. And Lafayette has a really talented back, but I don't know if their line can do anything with Boyle.

 

I doubt anyone other than those three will even come close.

Boyle just needs to clean it up,the fumbles,ints and wrap up better on D,also throw and catch the ball better, if they improve on these things, Boyle will be hard to stop.GO REBELS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Seems awful quick to make that statement if you're Johnson Central. Why not have Boyle come back and see if you can do the same to them. I'd say more than anything they don't want Boyle coming to Paintsville and putting a hurt on them next season as well.

You're probably right. I don't think home field advantage can compensate for a 42 point gap.

Boyle is fast gaining a bad reputation for the "attitude" and game tactics in recent years. They seem to be a good enough team w/o the drama. They should just play football and forget all the antics. I know it would be easy to say the teams they have beaten have sour grapes, but you can be beaten by a team and still respect that team.

Is it running up the score if your second team scores on their first team? If the coach is mad, he should look at his first team defense. If our second team line can give our second team quarterback the time to throw the ball to the second team reciever? Congratulations to the Jv squad! From what I saw Johnson Central stacked the line of scrimmage with their first teamers and came hard to stop the run on our backups and paid for it.
