A W by Boyle does not suprise me but dang the spread is suprising. Boyle is the clear cut favorite for 4A. If they can shut down JC they are for real again on defense.

 

Anybody that shuts down the leading rushing team in the nation last year will be the clear cut favorite they will be hard to beat.

I would trust that quote with my life. The writer called me right after the game for a rundown of the Garrard game and he told me all about the Boyle game. He said Matney basically said Johnson Central didn't want Boyle to come to Paintsville next year and they would be looking into a buyout. He also said Matney wasn't being critical of Boyle/French, but just didn't really want a return game.

Matney's last year at Sheldon Clark he was up 28-7 against Whitesburg in the fourth and kicked an onside kick, scored again to go up 35-7 and kicked another onside kick. The very next year at JC, against Whitesburg up 42-0 in the fourth, he's running reverses and throwing the ball.

 

I don't think he needed to do any of that. Matney deserves everything he gets.

88 is what the Advocate had. We keep the stats for the school and we had 105. But that also can be were they may go up one hash mark and we may go back. All I know is we stop the run like we always have. JC had some big old boys running the ball and we just made the plays on def. As for running up the score in the Chuck Smith years. Chuck wanted to get up by 45 points so the clock would run. Congrats to Boyle and we are looking forward to playing the Rock.:ylsuper:

Great job Rebels. I didn't see anyone intentionally running up the score, all I saw was total domination by one team. I didn't think we would win by this margtin, might be a special- season. I got to talk to a few JC fans after the game and they were classy. To bad they don't have a classy coach. Anyway, I really liked their t-shirts that said "is it Friday Night yet"..

I really missed the fireworks last night. Especially the big boom during the Star Spangled Banner. I heard, residents of Bluegrass Estates signed a petitrion to have it stopped. I hope Ernie was just on vacation. Does anyone know for sure?

I assume Boyle will play in the first game of the Bob Allen Pigskin Classic since it is Danville's bowl. Does that mean we will play at 5:30?

That's interesting. I am not against developing Whittle so he can lead the team for 2 years. Hester hasn't played qb for as long as Whittle or Hale either. I would think Hester would at least run the ball for the JV team, though. He got a few carries last night.

 

How come Devin Cox didn't run the ball last night?:idunno: I saw he starts at corner, but no carries at RB?:idunno: Hester is a decent RB, but Cox has a lot of potential at RB.

I assume the reason Devan is not running the ball this is is because Boyle already has 3 solid running backs , in Macshara, Cook and Dawson. He's also a good db and if Boyles deffence has a weakness it may be in the secondary. So having him focus on just that possition may be the best choice for him and the team right now.

Ernie was in Alaska on vacation, they got back yesterday.

 

Sounds like sour grapes and worry of that kind of drubbing on his home field, but, whatever.
