By the way, learning Spanish to witness is a very cool thing. Our mission work at VBS this week is in Mexico. We are suppose to drive down Aug. 4th and come back the 9th, delivering the VBS money that is collected and securing some heavy equipment for work in October.

Here, I'll pose this question then. Since it goes along with the thread. We've all heard that "ignorance of the law" is no excuse. Does this apply to only English speaking people? Or does it apply to everyone in under the authority of that law, illegals and otherwise?

I would think everyone. Even if you don't know it is stolen and someone sells you a stolen radio you are still on the look for receiving stolen property- no matter what language you speak. You may be some man born in a cave and never heard laws but if you kill someone you still killed someone. Even if you didn't know it was against the law you still get punished for it.

 

True story I know a guy who went fishing in Canada and saw the Speed Limit was 120...kilmoeters per hour...but he thought it was MILES per hour and got pulled over for doing 98 in a 60...even though he plead ignorance he still got a Canadian ticket. :lol:

I think the cancellation of events and the players seeing their way of life fastly disappearing contributed much more than that. Didn't they lose ALL THREE tournaments to be held on Hawaii.

Why do you need a sign written in any language to tell you that if you swim in any lake there is a danger you might drown?

Oh yeah. I was going to say something to that effect, but hadn't figured out a way to do it yet.

 

For the record, when it's your time, it's your time. Not even a sign in Spanish will save you. If his family gets the right lawyer(probably one that can speak spanish) then they will likely get some money provided the non illegal immigrant family member files the lawsuit.

 

I am in Japan right now and a large majority of their signs everywhere are in Japanese and English. I am so very grateful for that. I can also go to the Mickey D's and order a double cheeseburger with no onions and they actually get it right here despite the fact they don't speak English, but for some reason they always mess it up in Danville, KY.:ohbrother:
