Maybe I'm in the minority here, but who cares what her reasoning was? She resigned, end of story.

Incidentally, there have been a lot of blogs focused recently as to why on earth a person would subject themselves to the type of political pressure, scrutiny, and ruin that politicians subject themselves to. Do we not credit her for getting out along those lines?

 

I would credit someone for choosing NOT to be a politician because of this reasoning. I do NOT give someone credit for ditching their job for that reason. She's smart enough to know that the job would be this way ahead of time. If she's not...good grief, she could have been vice president, for heaven's sake! Would she have "resigned" to avoid the public eye there? If she had become president, during a 2nd term or if she "chose not to run again," would she abandon the country and resign, because, by golly, she's a different type of politician! (Namely, the one that chose to be elected by people and then not fulfil her obligation to them - without moving on to fulfil it in another capacity.)

 

Obviously, I'm not an Alaskan, so she's not personally afronting me as a citizen, but this leaves a VERY bad taste in my mouth as a fellow female.

To her credit, when she decided to run for governor three years ago, I'm sure the thought process was "It's the governor of Alaska. Who's going to to notice and keep track of every single move I make? I can run the state, pump out a few more babies, and never be in the national spotlight."

 

No one three years ago, including her, expected her to be where she was today.

I fear we will be hearing more from Mrs. Palin.. the saga should continue to be interesting.

She also CHOSE to accept the nomination to be vice president. Again, if she didn't know what that would entail, then she certainly shouldn't have taken the spot, nor should she continue to stir the pot of her own controversies.

I just assumed that she was resigning to seek another higher office. Perhaps a state representative or senator.

I hear she does a pretty good Tina Fey imitation

Palin is NOT the answer for Republicans.

Maybe she'll use that free time wisely by taking some remedial courses on geography and political science, among others.

There are so many more than just those two. But it's funny how one person says something and it's a slip of the tongue and it's ok, but the other it's not ok.
