How about some Jimmy Carter comparisons since we're already here.... The "your guy does it too" argument is one that's often trotted out when there is no easy refutation/answer to what my guy (in this case, gal) does. I've probably been guilty a time or two myself. Simple fact is that Ms. Palin was WAY out of her depth a few months ago; and this just adds to her lack of credibility on the national stage anytime soon. Perhaps she and Governor Sandford will start some kind of club.

The Anchorage Daily News says the state personnel board says the state has spent nearly $300k with most of that going to Troopergate. SO either she's lying or the ADN is talking to the wrong person at the state.

The two you used were slips of the tongue. Do you REALLY think that Obama is Muslim or thinks that there are 57 states? Feel free to list actual examples of things that aren't - but those two certainly were. That's not a partisan issue.

July 4, 200917 yr I think I'll accept her at her word. I believe she was and is way over her head in the national political arena. I also believe that she has strong family values and puts her family above everything else. Therefore, it's not hard for me to believe that she feels that by placing herself under this national spotlight, she has placed her children, friends and the people of Alaska in a position to be continually be rediculed and to become punchlines. So, basically, I think she may just be saying "leave me alone and let me lead a normal life for a while"
July 4, 200917 yr Right now there's a "Support Sarah PAC" ad running at the top of the page. She started a fund to raise money for legal bills. Goal was $500k but they only have about $100k so far.

She's not the first politician to have her family receive flak (the Bush twins, Chelsea Clinton, Amy Carter - btw...there's a pattern here...why's it always the girls?) so this is something that she SHOULD have been aware of before hand. 2) If she runs for president, as many feel that she plans on doing, this reason goes down the drain completely.

July 5, 200917 yr Former almost-son-in-law-baby-daddy is now going to write a tell-all book. My guess is that it will be monosyllabic.
