June 11, 200917 yr What exactly is textbook disbursement policy? Does that mean the players were selling the textbooks that they were given for free? If so, I think forfeiting games is a bit extreme, but then again, this is the NCAA.

If so, I think forfeiting games is a bit extreme, but then again, this is the NCAA. That's the way I understand it. What's been the penalty in the past for players who were busted for selling complimentary game tickets? Seems like that would fall under the same policy. On another note, I wonder if Alabama football fans think there is a NCAA/media conspiracy against them. I also wonder if Kentucky fans think the same thing (about Alabama, that is).

Im not positive because it was never released but it was rumored that a Nebraska player last season was caught selling his free tickets and he was suspended by the school for the rest of the season.
June 11, 200917 yr Not saying its a bad thing, but why do they keep the Tennessee win? The bowl win as well? No books to sell before these or what?
June 11, 200917 yr ^^^if it makes you feel better you can have the vol win back then, game was played on the field. NCAA was easy on us due to the fact we turned ourselves in. 201 students were involved and 16 sports. We lose no scholarships and can play in bowls. Just have to watch things for the next three years...Everything Textbooks Pencils/paper/desks. Bass fishing team is OK. SAT scores are fine Wireman. $32 mil...... You never answered my PM
June 11, 200917 yr Even if the wins are vacated, that really isn't a penalty; as long as they don't lose scholarships, TV time or bowl games, it's no big deal.
June 12, 200917 yr Didn't Bama hire the former AD or Asst AD at FSU who was part of the cleansing after the academic fraud issue in Tallahassee? If the above is what the penalty is...then they are getting off very light considering they are still on probation for the Albert Means issue. If you alrady on probation shouldnt you be extra careful in that time...this is pretty widespread across the athletics department. Pretty stinging article here regarding Mal Moore. http://blog.al.com/ray-melick/2009/06/melick_its_time_ua_president_c.html Moore is a "Bear" guy so he will be defended by many.
June 12, 200917 yr Who wins the 2007 FSU - Bama game? :lol:Nobody. Now the game never happened, period.
June 12, 200917 yr Not saying its a bad thing, but why do they keep the Tennessee win? The bowl win as well? No books to sell before these or what? 21 games in which the 7 players (who intentionally got textbooks for other students) played in. Those 7 players obviously weren't needed for ut or for the bowl win.
June 12, 200917 yr NCAA shows schools like Alabama too valuable for severe penalties Barring an appeal, the NCAA will put Alabama on single-secret probation for three years and force the Crimson Tide to vacate 21 football wins from the 2005-07 seasons because several players used their textbook money to obtain free books for other students. Wow. Nothing strikes a blow for truth and justice like an all-out assault on Mike Shula's career won-loss record.
