May 22, 200917 yr Carlos Fisher to the bullpen. Lincoln and Burton are not getting it done. Lets sweep the Tribe!
May 22, 200917 yr Author Ramon Ramirez was DFA'd. Well Hal Mccoy stated that Ramirez was DFA'd, and McDonald was sent to Louisville. The Reds link had the opposite though, which makes a lot more sense.
May 22, 200917 yr Does Gonzalez playing shortstop keep Willy Taveras from hitting? Taveras is 4-25 .160 with 3 runs scored and 7 strikeouts during the 1-5 streak. Couple that with the fact that (due to his illness)Votto is only 1-5 with 1 RBI and I think it is very easy to see why the Reds are averaging only 22 runs in the last 6 games. The love affair that many fans have of Gonzalez amazes me. I mean since he has become a Red, when has he helped the Reds much at all when he has actually been healthy? I just really don't get the love affair with him, I mean if it was any other player who has done as bad as him since he has been here then mostly everyone would be all over him wanting him gone. Its quite simple he is not the player he once was, and its not even close. Its just going to keep going down as well as he gets older.

May 22, 200917 yr I didn't make an assumption. I simply asked you a question, one you didn't answer. No, Gonzalex is not the cause for the Reds recent struggles. He sure hasn't helped them win many ballgames, though. Hairston was on a tear & had been playing pretty well defensively at SS. Votto being out has hurt the Reds. He's the one consisent presence they have in the lineup. The reason the Reds had been playing so well can be attributed to Willy Taveras & Jerry Hairston. They were hitting 1-2 and they were on base more times than not. When you get the 1st 2 guys on, it makes the middle of the lineup's job much easier...even when Joey Votto isn't around. Taveras & Hairston have cooled off now & you're seeing the Reds struggle. Ramon Hernandez's play has been very encouraging, though.
May 22, 200917 yr Reyes has walked everyone at the ballpark and we still only have one run!!!!:irked::irked::irked::irked::irked:
May 23, 200917 yr The Reds are back to not hitting. I am starting to believe that Gonzo is bad Karma. Of course, getting Votto back one of these days would be nice. Hard to believe they didn't put him on the DL.
