May 24, 200917 yr Boy was that a tough game to sit through.... the kinda game that will not make your g/f wanna go back.
May 24, 200917 yr As long as Weathers continues to pitch for the Reds, the 8th inning curse is never too far from rearing it's ugly head.:ohbrother: He is almost an automatic walk or hit to the opposite field (if he throws a strike). His only chance to record an out is if the batter is willing to chase the ball 4-8 inches off the outside edge. I believe LRCW has more stuff throwing from his couch.:taz: And Homer's Odyssey continues...
May 24, 200917 yr How many games have the Reds scored early and then lay down and never score again. The 16 Inning game in SD, the Reds never scored the final ten innings of the game. When watching that game, you could tell that the Reds was not going to score no matter what. Last night they scored 6 runs in the first three innings, and then lay back and wait for the Indians to catch them and beat them. The Reds have a hard time scoring when a HR is not involved. Also, Weathers should be out of the eight inning and Burton in. Weathers does not have the stuff for the eighth and Burton can get a stike when needed and has much better stuff. Weathers has to trick them to get them out.
May 24, 200917 yr Homer sent down and BP has a fracture... Brandon Phillips just told us he has a hairline fracture in the tip of his right thumb. In clubhouse, he was wearing a splint. X-rays showed the break this morning, Phillips said. He said he wants to play through it but should miss at least a couple days. Reds haven't said anything yet. "I told them I don't want to go on the DL," Phillips said. "I feel like I can play with it."
May 24, 200917 yr Taveras cf Hairston 2b Bruce rf Gomes lf Hernandez 1b Rosales 3b Gonzalez ss Hanigan c Cueto p Votto was a late scratch. He says he just doesn't feel 100% yet. He sure looked OK last night.
May 24, 200917 yr Homer Bailey...:ohbrother: :thumb: Best description of Bailey (that is within the BGP rules :irked:) I have seen. Reds management............Bailey is still the same stubborn spoiled (I know everything:irked:) brat that he was when you got him, seveal trips up and back down has not helped. How long are you going to stay with this guy? Bailey may very well make a pitcher someday but obviously not with the Reds.....he stinks! Trade him (maybe include him in a pkg. deal) if anything at all can be obtained for him, just don't waste even a minor league spot on him any longer. Edited May 24, 200917 yr by oldrambler

May 24, 200917 yr :thumb::lol: Should that be the case .....I want him at less than 100% alot! It seems like every game he comes back he hit a round tripper. If he cound do that playing every other day he'd hit 80 HR. But I'd rather have him in the line up everyday. I hope he's back soon. Inner ear infections are miserable.

I doubt he has a lot of value at this point, but I'm with you, get rid of him. His attitude is unbelievable. It's sad when the TV announcers comment on how he is shaking off the catcher and that he is a youngster and needs to trust his veteran catcher. He and the Reds just need a divorce IMO.

It's sad when the TV announcers comment on how he is shaking off the catcher and that he is a youngster and needs to trust his veteran catcher. He and the Reds just need a divorce IMO. His attitude is actually a lot better than it was when he first came up. Dusty has even said he has a better attitude and work ethic. Did you see the post game interview with Homer last night? I was very impressed with the way he handled the questions asked of him. You're right, he wouldn't have much value and IMO thats a blessing for the Reds. I think he'll end up being a valuable part of the Reds pitching staff in years to come. He's just not quite there yet.
May 24, 200917 yr I think what happened there is that the 3rd base ump saw that Hanigan never tagged Sizemore and overruled the home plate umpire somewhow. Reds just got hosed there.
