I think what happened there is that the 3rd base ump saw that Hanigan never tagged Sizemore and overruled the home plate umpire somewhow. Reds just got hosed there.

No reason for Hairston to make that throw. Awful call, but could have easily been avoided.

Yeah but if the umps call what actually happened, the Reds get out of the inning 3-2 regardless of the throw. Great play by Gomes to back up the play and do what he was supposed to do.

Hanigan never tagged him anyway. The replays showed that.

Now's the time to see what the Reds are made of.

I don't care if he tagged him. He was called out. The third base ump had no business calling interference there and it greatly affects the game.

I can't believe they called obstruction there. That ref turned and looked to make that call, as if he were looking for it. Just pathetic. These umps have been awful all weekend!

You said if the umps called what actually happened they get out of the inning. That was false...he actually never tagged him. Yes, it was a bad call but one bad call doesn't win or lose a ballgame.

It might lose this game for us. How can you say it might not?

They look like some High school umps I have seen...:isurrender:

I heard them say he tagged his elbow...:idunno:

It show's a lot about someones character to blame a loss on a bad call. Get an extra run somewhere in the game by a clutch hit and its a moot point. Or simply don't make that throw...or simply get on a knee and block the ball.

Oh, by the way, which position do you play for the Reds?

So you believe everything you hear?

1. The reds announcers are awful and say false things all the time

2. They said Agon is a gold glover earlier this year.

I like to see the game won and lost by the players, such as Gomes saving a run by his hustle and great throw after backing up the play. For the ump to ruin that based on a "judgment call" irks me. And sorry, I must be the first person ever to use "we" when referring to my favorite team.

Cleveland sure is making getting a sac bunt down look awful easy this weekend.

If so I want to get paid doing what they do...
