Gonzo with 3 more hits today, and 3 RBI's, including the game winner. Where are all the Gonzo bashers now? :sssh::popcorn::popcorn:

I was bashing it up before that infield single he had in about the 4th or 5th. He swung at 2 balls out of the strike zone on the first two pitches and missed both of them by a foot. I was furious. He came through there at the end though. :ylsuper:

Did anyone see Rosales's jump in the dugout after that last hit? God he's goofy.

Are you seriously tooting your own horn after his first good series of the year? Come on man, you are better than that. I think that is saying something that you think you need to say something after basically just one good series on the year. I mean I have a lot more to back me up on what I have been saying, than you do for one good series...:sssh:

However even though I have been a Gonzo basher this year, I am more than happy to have him prove me wrong for this series atleast. Even though I have been against him playing, I know Dusty is going to keep putting him out there no matter what. So I rather him prove me wrong for the rest of the season, and not just this series. I rather be wrong and have him help the Reds win, than be right and have the Reds lose. :thumb:

I doubt he has a lot of value at this point, but I'm with you, get rid of him. His attitude is unbelievable. It's sad when the TV announcers comment on how he is shaking off the catcher and that he is a youngster and needs to trust his veteran catcher.

He and the Reds just need a divorce IMO.

:thumb: I agree, that's why I said maybe include him in a package deal somehow. I just know he needs to go. I got ticked off as well when I saw him shaking off his catcher more than once :irked:.

:thumb::lol: That's just part of why I love to watch Rosales.....he is a young "old school" baseball player and it is very refreshing to see in this day and time of MLB. A hard nosed, entuiastic "old school" baseball player. Just goes out every day, keeps his mouth shut (doesn't complain) and plays the game the way it should be played. Imagine that! :idunno::ylsuper:

(now, since they are giving this team a boost watch the Reds management trade Rosales and Votto, lol)

Am I tooting my own horn? Are you serious? I mean I don't play for the Reds. I mean Gonzo was, is, and will remain the Reds best option at SS for the rest of the year unless they make a big trade or something. I mean do you honestly still think Janish or Hairston is a better option? I mean surely you can see that by now. Hairston Jr. has 119 AB's with 11 RBI's. Gonzo has 102 AB's with 15 RBI's. I don't think you have anything to back up what you have been saying. :sssh::sssh:

:scared:Now that is a scary thought!

How about Gomes coming in from LF to retrieve a ball on the home plate side of 3rd base? Love that effort!!

I've defended him all year and finally bashed him on Thursday or Friday. Looks like I need to shut my yapper....:ohbrother:

Of course, he deserved it when his average dipped into the .170's in late May. He is still barely above the mendoza line too, but hopefully he is on his way up. I really hope so, I've always been a big fan of his and he has had some really bad luck.

He's actually up to .225 now.

He gets in there from the outfield even quicker if its a bench clearing brawl.

Did the catcher actually tag him or not? If he didn't wouldn't it actually have been a bad call if he had been called out? Sounds like maybe 2 bad calls evened out and he was safe as he should have been to begin with.

It was a close play and home plate umpires make the wrong call all the time when it's unclear if the catcher actually tags a runner. That call is more acceptable to miss. Yes, the replays showed he did not actually tag him. I still can not get over Rob Drake calling obstruction there. Has anyone heard anything more from the umpires explaining this ruling?
