Highlands is a fantastic job...but I would have to believe Holmes is the undisputed King of basketball jobs in the 9th Region. I am sure this is a -building confidence in the program- type of statement from their new coach.

Everyting I'm hearing about Coach Flynn makes me very optimistic about the future of the Highlands basketball program. Coach Schlarman was, and always will be, very well liked by the people in the communuity; but I know Mike will receive an equally warm welcome here.

I doubt very seriously he tries to dodge Holmes. That will become the new biggest rivalry in NKY over the next few years IMO.

This is completely accurate. If the so-called "dodge" occured at all, which is obviously highly suspect, it would not have been Coach Flynn instigating it.

Seems like a good hire to me. He seems to have success at other schools, 3 schools to the sweet 16 and 429 wins.

Mike Flynn has a proven track record, but ultimately has not been overly successful in years! Did VERY little while @ Bourbon County!

This is absolutely false. Why would Flynn dodge Rose Hill? The year before that he beat them in the regional finals? The year they didn't play in the regular season, Ashland beat them in the district tournament finals and played a good game in the regional finals. That was a good Ashland team but they weren't good enough to compete with OJ and company that year. I think Flynn has to get alot of credit for that.

 

While I don't know the talent level at Highlands, I will tell you this Flynn will have them playing to the maximum of their potential. Birds fans will not be disappointed.

No one considers that. You cannot build a basketball program in 2 years, especially if the talent isn't up to the level of you competition.
