I think all expectations are very realistic. You take what is considered the pre-season number one team in Kansas then compare it to the Kentucky roster as is (with Meeks returning) and I feel Kentucky has a better team.

Dick Vitale, ESPN's Hall of Fame commentator on college basketball, saw Patterson's return as making Kentucky a "legit top-10, top-15 team" next season.

 

Vitale noted that UK remains in contention for point guard John Wall, generally considered the nation's top high school prospect. Plus, Meeks could return.

 

"If they get John Wall and Jodie Meeks comes back, they'll be ready to take on the Atlanta Hawks," Vitale said. "Never mind the NCAA title. They'll be going for the NBA title."

IF Wall comes, final 4 or national champs. UNC lost a lot, Oklahoma did too, Villanova has a good class coming in but lost some also, UConn lost a bunch, so did Pittsburg, Louisville lost some good players. The only REALLY threat that may be better than UK is Kansas because of what they return and their recruiting class. Maybe not better, but definately can give UK all they want.

Without John Wall, I see a sweet sixteen and above... Rember it's a new coach and a new system. Plus a lot of these guys haven't played with each other yet...

No, I am no where near a Duke guy. Kentucky will be good with or without Wall, they have Bledsoe who can be a pretty solid PG. With Wall I believe they get close to 30 wins, but I don't see them getting past the sweet 16. Wall is good, but he isn't Michael Jordan or Magic Johnson.

I can only imagine the returning players like Jody Meeks, Patrick Patterson, and Darius Miller playing for a coach they actually like and respect.

 

The sky might be the limit for next year's UK basketball team! I am looking forward to some of these players playing the games with a smile on their face and without an undeserving tyrant playing psychological mind games with them.
