Sure, but talent and good coaching are the two main things. We have both now. Why not shoot for the stars? :idunno:

Baby steps people. Win the east, have a good SEC tournament and get in the NCAAs. That is my goal for this team. Once you are in the dance, anything can happen. If you don't make the dance, see last year...

 

Too many new faces to "expect" a final four run, albeit not out of the question. We must remember we will play alot of freshmen this year, and freshmen tend to be up and down.

I agree, don't need to get carried away too fast and far. I voted for Sweet 16, I hope we can do better than that, but feel that is a realistic goal at this stage of the team....depending on alot of Freshman.

I believe at least the Elite 8 and Final 4 is not out of the question. John Wall would be a huge assist to any team, but even without him I think Bledso can do the job, and I also believe Liggins would bloom and look like a totally different player under Coach Calipari. If I'm not mistaken didn't Calipari recruit him at Memphis.

With Wall I think Elite 8 is possible, maybe final 4. Without him, I think the Elite 8 would be a miracle. Bledsoe is nice, but I don't know if he will be the type of player as a freshman who can lead this team to the final four or elite 8. Of the frosh starting PG's who make the final four now, which is rare, they seem to be high lottery picks after their frosh or sophomore year. Bledsoe is a nice player, but I just don't think he is the type of impact freshman who can lead a team really far into the tournament. If this were a veteran team then yea, maybe, but most of the players we have will be either freshman or sophomores. It's a lot to ask for me.

No, I am no where near a Duke guy. Kentucky will be good with or without Wall, they have Bledsoe who can be a pretty solid PG. With Wall I believe they get close to 30 wins, but I don't see them getting past the sweet 16. Wall is good, but he isn't Michael Jordan or Magic Johnson.

Same thing I have been saying. Sweet 16 is more realistic.

I can see UK as National Champions next season. (Vegas seems to agree) John Wall hasn't even signed with UK yet, either.

I say round 2 because they will hit a struggle point in the season and end up with a 6 or 7 seed.

Look for a Sweet 16 appearance with maybe an Elite 8 in the mix if they get the right opponent to open weekend two. Tournament experience just isn't there for a run past 3 or 4 games yet...

I hope Coach Cal is shooting for the stars, I just hope the fans stay grounded. I know it is comparing apples to oranges, and I know things turned out well, luckily, and I know that the direction we are going is good- but who knows- Coach Cal could be SEC Coach of the Year, and we could have calls for his head just a few months later, with the temperament of the Big Blue Nation.

Kentucky will be back to being Kentucky. A very good that could be great team that will make a deep run into the NCAA Tournament.

I see U.K. in Lexington next season, I don't think they are going to move the university:D.

Seriously, I did not vote. U.K. should be VERY good but I am not going to jump in with all of the "expectations" stuff. I believe coach Cal will have this program turned around much sooner rather than later. I am just going to enjoy the ride.
