Feeling pretty good today. Was fighting an infection going into the trach removal -- that being one reason I feared it would be delayed. But the pills are working, I think.

 

Talking is still a bit of a struggle right now. I have to scrunch my head forward to seal off the neck. That let's me talk in a fairly normal voice and cadance. The other method is to use my thumb or back of my hand. These methods don't provide a very good seal though, so I can only talk in little phrases, and get quite winded doing so.

 

Now if I can just avoid getting a permanently stiff neck before the week is out, I'll be fine.
