April 26, 200917 yr So do you all consider Mitchell a Bluebird, or what was it before, a Colonel? Just wonderin'. I actually consider him a Yellowjacket.:sssh:
April 27, 200917 yr Since MM finished his high school football career at (and graduated from) Highlands, I think that officially makes him a Bluebird for life! But you are right, be did attend and play football for CovCath before that. I will consider him an Ockerman Lil' Rebel lol.
April 27, 200917 yr Mike is a Bluebird. But I still hope he does well. Once HHS players goes to college (and none of my closest friends played against them), I root for them unconditionally.
April 27, 200917 yr Didn't Mike also run track for HHS his SR year? Also, can't believe nobody has resurrected the photo / series of photos showing MM "separating the ball from the receiver" during the Boyle Co. regular season game at HHS. I wonder if that was on his "highlight reel?" Maybe that was why Al Davis was so impressed -- or maybe he just heard Dale quoted as saying "Mike was a great kid, a super athlete and a great football player -- did I mention he was a great kid?"
April 27, 200917 yr I wish him the best of luck in Oakland. Hope he does well and can adjust to playing for a nutjob in Al Davis.

Yes he did run track his senior year. I hope Mike makes it with the Raiders and has a great pro career. He's obviously a very talented athlete but even more importantly, he really is a very nice, polite young man. If playing at Highlands one year made only a very small contribution to the success he's enjoyed and hopefully will enjoy, I'm good with that. Congrats Mike and as a Kentuckian, I'm very proud of you. Represent your family and your home state well.
