No matter what Oakland does in day 2, they will have a horrible draft because of their 2 first picks. When Crabtree is available, they take another WR???!?!?!?!?! Then they take a Safety that was projected to go undrfted, they take him in the second round??!?!?!?! Al Davis is losing it.

Happy for the kid but definitely left me scratching my head. The Raiders will never reach the playoffs till Al Davis is dead

Mike said that the Bears indicated yesterday that they might take him at 49 and told him to stay close to his phone.

If he is who the Raiders really wanted at that position then I have no problem with this pick then since apparently Chicago was set to take him 2 picks later.

Either that or Chicago is just as stupid and the Raiders saved them from looking bad.

Congratulations to this fine young man! He has worked extremely hard to get where he is and deserves every chance he gets. The Bluebird faithful are pulling for you.

Mike, keep on hittin'em!!

I agree...Mike didn't get invited to the combine but that didn't slow him down a bit. When I talked to him about a month ago he was working hard and staying focus on his goal!!! Congats Mike show'em why they drafted you in the second round!!!:thumb:

Mike Mitchell called out Mel Kiper.... I know Mike is an emotional kid but show them on the field Mike.

A nice phone interview with Mitchell here...

"How do you think that so many teams and so many people that are supposed experts on the draft missed on you?"

"I don't really know, I think the fact that I come from a small school. It was great motivation to hear Mel Kiper had me as a prefered free agent, it goes to show you just how much film this guy really watches..."

Pretty telling statement that the Bears were set to pick him up in the 2nd round.

I'm assuming his eligibility issues are cleared up by now.

So do you all consider Mitchell a Bluebird, or what was it before, a Colonel? Just wonderin'.

Since MM finished his high school football career at (and graduated from) Highlands, I think that officially makes him a Bluebird for life! But you are right, be did attend and play football for CovCath before that.

He played in both CCH games that year.

My mistake... for some reason I thought that the HHS regular-season win was without MM (due to injuries).

Congrats to Mike! I hope he has an awesome career in the NFL.
