April 21, 200917 yr I dont know how anyone can call Randolph Morris a bust. He would score every single time you threw him the ball in the post. Any 1,000 point scorer at a school like Kentucky can not be considered a bust. Especially when that guy is the best player on the team.
April 21, 200917 yr - Rod Rhodes scored 1,209 points in his 3-year career - that's hardly a bust - Randolph Morris scored 1,123 points and 531 rebounds in 3 seasons It's hard to label those busts. Exactly ... some of the guys mentioned in this thread may have been disappointments, especially with some fans' inflated expectations, but they weren't busts. A "bust" should be defined as a much-hyped player that made little or no contribution to the program.

April 21, 200917 yr What about Desmond Allison, Jason Parker, and Rashaad Carruth. :thumb: Oliver Simmons comes to mind as well.
April 21, 200917 yr Saul Smith. That name is still not allowed to be used in my house!!! He was one of my least favorites as well, but I don't remember how much hype he had, if any, so I won't call him a bust. And for all the hype around Morris he was a bust. He was a very good player, but never was the type of player he was suppose to be. Good player, but not the dominant force in the middle we had hoped for. My boys Carruth and Parker have to go on here as well. I really like them, but the truth is the truth.
April 21, 200917 yr Fact of the matter is, the way all the players are built up by the press before they arrive at UK, they are all over hyped!
April 21, 200917 yr I was disappointed in the way that Shagari was used. I thought he could've been a real contributor, if used properly. Not a bust, but a disappointment. The most recent bust would have to be Alex Legion. Nate Knight, Antwain Barbour & Jason Parker come to mind, too. Barbour would've been better off jumping straight from the JUCO ranks to the NBA.
April 21, 200917 yr For those of you listing Randolph Morris: Don't forget, he put up those #'s in 2 1/2 seasons.
April 21, 200917 yr Carruth was a five star player out of high school and did absolute nothing at UK. This has to be the biggest bust of all time.

April 21, 200917 yr Saul Smith. That name is still not allowed to be used in my house!!! How was he a bust? He was not a highly recruited player was he?
