They've got 5 stolen bases and 6 homers in the 7 games. Votto, Bruce, Hernandez, Encarnacion, and even Gonzalez and Phillips are not really your bunting/hit and run type guys.

April 16, 200917 yr He's the best option the Reds have at SS right now. You have to play your best player at each position. Which is why I think Dickerson should start in left with Hairston at SS. Platoon Hairston & Gonzalez at SS. Let Hairston play in LF against lefties, since that seems to be important to Dusty.

April 16, 200917 yr On Gonzalez ... guys, this is April 15. We're less than two weeks into the season. If he's still lost at the plate by the end of May, then a change might be in order. At this point, though, he is still the Reds' best option at shortstop.
