Why not let him steal then put a hit and run on. I don't really see why you don't give him a chance to get into scoring position.

I would have been cool w/ that too. I was just fine w/ the way it was played.

He's gonna have tough stretches.

Remember this is only his 2nd year.

I am just saying, if he does not start something soon, his confindence is going to go down significantly because he is only 22. That is something that comes from being that young and inexperienced.

Nope, Dusty already said he will hit 9th.

We still have 155 games left.

He get things straightened out.

Young guys have stretches like this.

Mike Lincoln in to finish the game.

I liked them putting him in this spot to help rebuild confidence after Saturday's disaster.

I was getting nervous when he gave up the double.

Question wasn't will he it was should he?

Is Owings pitching tommorow?

He's scheduled to.

He's scheduled to.

Owings should hit about sixth or seventh the way the Reds are hitting so inconsistent.

I can't wait untill Jay Bruce gets it going. Votto is really hitting the baseball and when Bruce comes along (and imo he is too good not to) it will only make things better.

The more games that we can keep out of Dusty Bakers hands/decisions imo the better we will be. :D

Usually I don't like it, but I really would have no problem with him batting 8th and Gonzo or Janish batting 9th. 1. He's simply a better hitter and run producer. 2. It gives them good speed at 9,1, and 2.

But again, it sounds like Dusty has already made up his mind and Owings will bat 9th.

Actually, the best place in the lineup for a team's worst hitter is in the #8 spot ... that's where most American League teams put theirs, in some cases choosing to use the #9 spot for sort of a second leadoff man.

That being the case, it makes more sense to hit Owings ninth and leaving Gonzalez or Janish in the #8 slot.

Good win last night. The pitching was really good, even Herrera had a good showing, although going from 0-2 to 3-2 in that situation was dangerous. Would still like to see a power right handed bat in the middle of the lineup so Phillips isn't hitting cleanup, but oh well, it is a fun team to watch.
