I get the feeling that we are preaching to the choir here .... !

 

I guess because it is "Beechwood" .. people are under the impression that they can make up the rules as they go (which is "interesting to say the least). Why people think that Beechwood can just pull the trigger on moving up or down whenever they feel like it ... amazes me completely. I am "fairly confident" that Beechwood isn't scared of NCC or Holy Cross ....

 

Guys, lighten up! We (Raceland) are 1A and I was making a joke! It was an underhanded compliment. I am best friends with Coach Roy Lucas (Lloyd) was an assistant at Beechwood in the mid '90's and was part of 3 or 4 State Championships. I have followed Beechwood ever since and now are rivals when the playoffs arrive. I love the pride of Beechwood and respect it. But you posters are going to have to quit being so defensive......geesh!:ohbrother:

BW will be just fine this year. A whole lot of fight in this dog or (Tiger). Most definitely the most athletic group I have seen on the BW field. Every year they end up playing THE LARGER SCHOOLS like LCA, HAZARD, FRANKFORT and the list goes on for the top billing. This year will be no different.

Glad to help, I let it go for a day or two, just to hear the argument.

 

I think the reason all these 1A teams want Beechwood to move up is that they are tired and jealous of Beechwood always winning. Listen, Beechwood doesn't always win because they are Beechwood. They win because they work harder than everybody else. Every single week since mid January, these young men are literally pushed to the very edge. At Beechwood, the staff instills in them the fact that Ft. Mitchell doesn't accept a loss like in other places. Losing is not an option. And if they do lose, well trust me, the young men aren't very happy for a long time.

 

People want them to move up because Class A is watered down. Class A still has 15 schools that have a higher enrollment than Beechwood. It is true that there is less competition with NCC and Danville moving up classes, but Hazard, LCA, and several other teams are extremely talented.

 

With all respect, the other teams who don't win the state championsip are just jealous of Beechwood's success, and it will always be like that with a team who constantly wins. We are used to hearing this stuff and to tell you the truth it just makes us laugh, and yea, get a little angry and want get some retribution for the words said. But I say this, as a former player, do not whine about how Beechwood is " too this or that" or " need to do this", work your butts off like we do and act like men. If you don't want us to win the title anymore, stop us. Walk the walk, don't talk the talk.

I don't think most of the fans, players, or schools want Beechwood to move up. I know I don't. I would prefer that Beechwood stay right were they are, in fact, I would prefer that NCC and all the other "Old 1A" schools were back. I want my team to win a State Championship, but I don't want them to win a State Championship that is hollow.

 

I know that there are a few people here and there that would rather have Beechwood move up, but please not paint all 1A fans with that broad brush, most of use just want the opportunity to beat Beechwood in the Championship game.

Two nice scrimmage games against what should be two very solid 6A schools. Will Crane be the featured back for the Tigers or will they have a stable of solid runners like they usually do?

This will definately be an interesting year. The upcoming senior class has never been a "football class" for a variety of reasons. However, I am not very worried.

 

As small as we are, Beechwood always has kids ready and willing to stand up and step up. Last year's freshmen team was the best in many years and they are very ready and very hungry. They might be young, but they are awesome. If they win state next year, there will be no stopping them for the next 3 years.

 

The Tigers are number one till someone else proves otherwise.

I think it will be more of a stable approach because of injury issues. If Joe Colosimo is healthy, he will be the starting running back. Crane will back him up. Don't be surprised to see sophomores Vocke and Staten get some carries.

I agree. But 3, 4 or even 5 sophomores could get some decent playing time this year because of the small senior class (7 seniors) and because there are probably that many talented sophomores that can handle it.

I heard Vocke was one of the best young running backs people have seen in a long time, is this true? Did anyone get a chance to watch him play last year?

Rule 13

Very good! He is fast and very skilled at the RB position. One of if not the best in Northern Kentucky last year. Not as big as True from Highlands but very fast. Saw him run away from the Highlands D several times in the Frosh Championship.

Well he quit baseball to lift for football this year, so maybe he will gain some weight in the of season to get ready for this year. That is my little cousin, I'm stationed in Japan so Ii didn't get to watch him play last year but I got to watch this tapes. He is very explosive, and also has the speed to change direction an make players miss.
