Beechwood 196 boys 9-12th grades.

 

How about Highlands only dresses the same amount of boys BW has on the sideline... What kind of a fight is 2 on 1.... even it out. OR just eat your CAKE.

You might have a talented class and a rich tradition but you still honor those that take as much pride in their tradition. No fault of your own, you are locked in the 1A class but do not call out 5A Highlands. We respect ST X and Elder and enjoy playing the best, but I can tell you we are smart enough to respect them prior to playing don't jump on that bandwagon to soon, you have not seen how are freshman turn out as Seniors. When you play against the best day in day out you only get better. You will not see 5 or 6 sophmores make that much of a contribution on our squad. The upperclass men have done their time and have too much pride. We can game plan for a running back. Look at what happened to M. Simpson SK in the championship game at 6A. Great Athlete, but we are not a one trick pony. You have not seen the war room.

Thunderbirds WOW! You might want to go down with the ship. We have no cannon in the bird nest, but we sure will print this for the 9/3 Thursday match-up. You seem to forget these boys work very hard as I am sure as mentioned in this thread that BW does as well. Our boys are taught win you win say little and when you lose say less. You have built a winning tradition but don't give Coach M a reason to fire up the birds during summer two a days. We welcome the challenge in 3 years. For now you might want to look to play a matchup or two on the otherside of the river. We would never duck BW.

This was kind of where I was getting at. Highlands will not be the same team that played Beechwood this past year at the Freshman level. Won't even be close.

As for what happens in a couple of years, when last year's frosh become seniors, you may be right. I don't think you are, but you may be. We'll see then if they play.

Beechwood is Beechwood. They will be dominant in Class A for many years to come. Go Tigers!!!!

From what I understand, it is only a 2 years series this time too. When last years freshman are seniors (in 3 years, a year after the series is over) Highlands will not want any part of them!

 

I doubt that. Beechwood had a very good Freshman class in '08, but an average one in '07 and it sounds like a small one in '09. One class can only carry a team so far. In Class A, it may be very far, but when you are talking about Highlands or teams of that caliber, they have 3 above average to great classes to work with on the varsity level.
