First, you have to present yourself which means you have to work to get open. To be fair to him, its not his game and it appears its not part of his game that he's worked on developing.

IMO. Pittman has always preferred to hang on the perimeter. He could get 20+ and 15+ every game if he stayed down low. The couple of times that they made good lobs to him, it was a big mismatch, and he caught it and converted.

I think it was more strategy by both teams that kept Pittman in check in the first half. Holmes did not move on offense and BC had one of their big guys guarding JJ (I may be mistaken) to sag off and prevent the pass to the middle. Pittman just stood on the block and didn't work for the ball.

 

I would love to see a team like Holmes run a Princeton style offense with the athletes that they have, but there was no movement at all.

Ricardo needs to get a little more "attitude" in him. He's clearly the dominant player on the Dogs but I sure would like to see him be more aggressive offensively.

 

Watching him and Ronnie Cotton go at it was fun.

if Holmes ever desides to attack the basket they'd beat everybody 20 pts ! I've seen a group so talented play so.......non agressive. Let's go bulldogs your the best team in the 9th go down and play hard and bring back the hardware!!!!!!

I was not at tonight's game, but if the New Cath game is any indication, their Sweet 16 trip will be short. Holmes cannot go through the motions for the first three quarters and then decide to turn it on in the fourth. That is a recipe for disaster against the caliber of teams down there.

Exactly. It was a terrible offense. No movement. If they can play the defense they play and somehow get ANY type of offensive movement and game plan, I think they'll do some legit damage down at Rupp.

I think this could turn out to be an interesting match up to see if Holmes gets caught up in EC's style of play. I don't think that it would be a bad thing, but not sure that is what Coach Henley wants. If this game actually happens it will be fun to watch.

I know Holmes has the reputation of "running and gunning" but that simply is not what they do. They win with defense and have the best D Holmes has put on the floor in quite a while.

 

I was sitting by a 10th region guy tonite who thought it would be high scoring. I told him we wouldn't see 50 by either team. I didn't realize how bad my prediction would be.

With all this talk, you would think that Holmes didn't win the game after all!:idunno:

Let's not act like Brown was doing it all himself. There was usually a defender waiting to provide help from other block as Boone was sitting in a 2-3 zone. Just watched the highlights on ICN 6 from the game and the few times Pittman was matched up one on one with Brown, he got the ball and converted.
