Rupp considered Casey to be the best "money" player he ever coached and it is widely thought that if not for the accident UK would have another championship.

 

Casey, Pratt, and Issel are all good basketball minds and have stayed close to the program.

 

I remember them all very well Pepper. I think they all know a lot more about UK basketball than probably all who post on this sight, myself included bigtime. :thumb:

For some reason, he REALLY dislikes BCG...and for some reason feels the need to express it publicly.

This is WAY out of hand. BCG's last two years haven't been any worse than Tubby's last two, and at least BCG has some talent coming in.

 

Give the guy another year or two before you hang him out to dry. I'm sure comments like this are really going to help attract talent to the program (both players and a new coach if it comes to that).

Exactly..it has kind of gone downhill. I really do think the C in BCG is for clueless.

For what it is worth, I have often heard that if not for the car wreck, Mike Casey may very well be UK's all time leading scorer.

Casey is actually not doing very well with his health, may prayers go out to him.

Remember this about Casey's comments, his best friend is Mike Pratt. There maybe some behind the scenes information that he knows.

I gotta feeling this might be the first of many former players and alum to call for Billy's departure from the program. The commentary on UK basketball in the Kentucky Enquirer is a good example of how things are going in Lexington these days.

This is the first former UK player that I can recall that has criticized a UK coach.

I can assure you there are some serious negative opinions from former UK players who wish to remain anonymous.

Considering the times and lack of NCAA investigative abilities you may have misunderstood what he meant by "money player.":lol:

I plan to share my full thoughts on the BCG/UK debate once the season is over, but I will say this. There are a lot of big names out there that were at sink or swim level early in their careers and they learned from it and became legends.

 

He has earned equal parts more time and head scratching for some of his decisions...
