I was at the game tonight, East played hard and did what they had to, to win. Unfortunately they came up short. They have nothing to hang their heads about. The refs? They were really bad. Billman obviously has it out for Ferguson and the Technical was Jonathan was sick of being rode like a horse all night. East may feel like they were robbed, but let me assure you they got away with more traveling than AAA. :) So the refs were really off their game. Elliott gutted it out. Perhaps at time Elliott was 1/2 a step slow, but East did a wonderful job of controlling the tempo as they stated in pregame interviews that they wished to do. Congratulations East Carter on a good comeback in their season and best of luck in the future. Good Luck to Elliott onward on their march to Rupp.

Elliott may not be as good as they are saying.

Are you kidding me?

Elliott beat Ballard, Mason, and Anderson County All top 15 teams. Not to mention a slew of teams that were highly rated out of state. South Charleston has not lost a game since Elliott beat them by over 20. S. Charleston have won 20 straight or so.

East Carter is a very good team. This game was at East. I knew that this would be a tough game from the beginning. I was happy with the win. They proved they could win a close game with everything on the line.

I personally don't think the refs gave the game to Elliott. I am sure as always GoRadio will tell us straight up what he thought of the refs and the impact (if any) they had on what was a great high school basketball game.

OK, I have been asked and as was said earlier, BOTH teams got away with a lot of stuff in this one. I don't feel the officials had any impact in the outcome of the game. The only stat that jumps off the page to me was the fact that Elliott Co shot 27 free throws compared to 10 for East Carter. It was a physical ball game and Elliott Co took advantage of the drive to bucket. Ethan Faulkner shot more free throws than did the entire Raider team. East didn't drive and try to create the contact in my view. That's not their game. Did Barnhill get clobbered a couple of times? Sure he did. But so did Knipp. I saw a couple of horrible calls in this one, but nothing that influenced the outcome of the game. So no blaming the officials gang....they had nothing to do with the outcome of this one in my opinion.

I am a big supporter of the officials, you guys who know me and listen to me know that. However, I have to tell the listener what I see. I saw a charge call tonight that was quite possibly the worst block/charge call I have ever seen. It didn't change anything in the game, I was just shocked and amazed that a top ranked official in this region made that call.

That's my opinion, blast away if you must!!

If the officials were off, it was both ways. I'd venture to say that East got the better of the two. Yeh, im sure you'll get a straight up answer from a radio station that's in Grayson and is always clearly rooting for East.

You are wrong 3Ball. I call it like I see it on the radio. Sure, I want East to win, but I do not put on Raider colored glasses. I am not a homer by any stretch. If East gets a break, I let you know, if they get hosed, I say that as well. I give the kids on each team as much credit as they deserve and try never to let where I went to school influence how I see the game. I am curious, have you ever heard me broadcast a game on the radio?

I knew you would tell it objectivity. That is what I saw as well. Was that fair enough for you 3Ball or was he to biased towards East.:sssh:

He pulls for all 16th teams, but I agree East would be his favorite. He must be commended for being able to analyze a game without his personal preferences coming into play. I for one, put a lot of stock in his analysis.
