Any word on when the new coach will be hired? I know there was speculation for a hire as early as Friday.

Stepp also applied at Estill. He likes to be interviewed. Harrison to Franklin would make that district interesting. I however don't see them hiring Stepp.

What do you say to your administration and players when they hear about you applying for 3 other jobs after only 1 year there? Just want interview practice?

Look, you don't know everything that is going on. You get on a public forum and blast a dang good coach based on outside information. It seems that you may have some problem with Stepp, I don't know, but lets look at his record. He was at Berea for 4 years and then at Clay for 6 years. He left Clay to move his family toward central KY. He was promised a lot when he came to Harrison and now those promises are not coming true, I even here that they may be taking the head coaches extende pay which could result in a sunstanial amount of money.

Now on the Franklin County side they are trying to ge the best coach possible for their program. All of the candidates are great coaches and people, but when it comes down to it they are going to get the best one for them. If that happens to be Aaron Stepp then they will have hired an excellent football mind and coach, and with the talent pool they have there he will be very successful there. If he stays at Harrison he will be successful there. The bottom line is, there is some business sense to this profession:

If he gets the job he will have assistant coaches in the school building itself, he will have very nice facilities, and support from the administration to get the job done. As we all know as a caoch it is not just the money and in fact he may take a pay cut, but as a coach you would like to have the resources to be able to build and develop for a long time, that does not seem to be the case as far as the administration is concerned at Harrison.

If Stepp gets the job he will put all his efforts into it and looking at his track record will be there for a long time, no matter the assumptions you want to make based on a one year deal at Harrison, which by the way won the district last year. remember what they say when you ASSUME things, we don't want that to happen so please and I mean PLEASE know all the facts before you post, so that when players, parents and whoever else gets on here and reads your comments are effected. Hope I have enlighten you a bit today and we will have to wait and see how it all plays out in the end.

Not trying to blast anybody. Just wondering how you deal with your players and administration when they find out you are interviewing for other jobs. Thats all. Don't know the guy, not saying anything about him personally. It was a generalized question for any coach in that position.

I didn't think you were blasting anyone either. I think you bring up an interesting question.

Ray Graham interviewed today.

I wish him luck and hope he gets it. They could not hire a better man. The impact on those boys would be immesurable.

Thanks Pancake. I guess the post could be mis-read. I have just seen on here a lot of coaches interviewing for 2-3 jobs and I wonder what they say to their players and administration, when they find out. I understand that sometimes a coach might be getting the short end of the stick or in a bad situation and looking for an out.

If the first round of interviews were a week ago and Coach Graham just interviewed yesterday, does that mean it was his second interview? Does anyone have any idea what is going on in the process? When will a coach be named and who will it be?

Friday has passed and no word. I have confirmed 2 guys had second interviews on Thursday.

And they were?

I'm guessing Ray Graham and the Coach from Woodford, but that is strictly a guess.

If Coach Tracy is a finalist for the Franklin Co. job does anyone know why he is wanting to leave Woodford Co.? By no means do I mean this in a negative way, just curious if Woodford Co. will be down for a couple of years, Franklin Co. will be loaded this year or soon, better job, better pay, better facilities, etc... Just curious because I thought he did a good job at Woodford Co. and has a good thing going.
