My Sources say it is Coach Stepp from Harrison county. Pretty solid source.

Has this been confirmed?

Yes, Stepp was introuduced to the team today as the new head football coach in the school's media center.

Congrats to Coach Stepp. Good luck in the east side of town.

Wow very interesting. Harrison will be looking for a coach 2 years in a row. I would venture to say Graham will return and work on a 100 contract now.

Can't figure out the Stepp hire?????

Why?

Have you looked at his records of the past stops?? He has not won any meaningful games during that time nor has he stayed anywhere very long. Winning the district last year was not "meaningful." The district was very weak.

Didn't he have some good teams at Clay Co. ? Who would have been your choice, just curious?

No he did not go back and look at who they played. They were at best the 3rd place team in the district and typically lost by 50+ against teams in district. Put up huge numbers but not big wins. There is also some other things that I will not put on a public forum. The 1 year he spent in 5A they should have been able to win the district but fell to teams that were not as talented but better coached.

I would have liked to seen Graham work out b/c he is an excellent coach and even better person.

Look, you don't know everything that is going on. You get on a public forum and blast a dang good coach based on outside information. It seems that you may have some problem with Stepp, I don't know, but lets look at his record. He was at Berea for 4 years and then at Clay for 6 years. He left Clay to move his family toward central KY. He was promised a lot when he came to Harrison and now those promises are not coming true, I even here that they may be taking the head coaches extende pay which could result in a sunstanial amount of money.

Now on the Franklin County side they are trying to ge the best coach possible for their program. All of the candidates are great coaches and people, but when it comes down to it they are going to get the best one for them. If that happens to be Aaron Stepp then they will have hired an excellent football mind and coach, and with the talent pool they have there he will be very successful there. If he stays at Harrison he will be successful there. The bottom line is, there is some business sense to this profession:

If he gets the job he will have assistant coaches in the school building itself, he will have very nice facilities, and support from the administration to get the job done. As we all know as a caoch it is not just the money and in fact he may take a pay cut, but as a coach you would like to have the resources to be able to build and develop for a long time, that does not seem to be the case as far as the administration is concerned at Harrison.

If Stepp gets the job he will put all his efforts into it and looking at his track record will be there for a long time, no matter the assumptions you want to make based on a one year deal at Harrison, which by the way won the district last year. remember what they say when you ASSUME things, we don't want that to happen so please and I mean PLEASE know all the facts before you post, so that when players, parents and whoever else gets on here and reads your comments are effected. Hope I have enlighten you a bit today and we will have to wait and see how it all plays out in the end.

HC is getting a brand new stadium...

Since 1998 Coach Stepp has a combined record of 59-61. And he is 2-8 in the playoffs.

A stadium does not make everything. Besides have you ever sat down and talk to Aaron, he is a very good football mind. He has done well as a head coach and did bring a district championship this year to Harrison. I wish coach Stepp and Frankllin County the best and can assure you if given the support, Stepp will produce at Franklin.

Sounds like Stepp is a friend of yours...but you can't argue about 2-8 in the playoffs. I really don't understand the big fuss about a coach that is 2 games under .500 the past decade, especially since he has only won 2 out of 10 play-off games.

Stepp is 2 games under .500 at Berea and Clay Co. for the most part. That is a small feat in itself! Berea may be one of the toughest situations in the state. It for sure was when Stepp took over the job. Clay Co.? Clay Co. football is like Clay Co. basketball. The only way to win there is if Bobby Keith is coaching.

He'll have a few more athletes at his disposal at Franklin. Don't know if that will mean he will beat the gauntlet of LexCath, Boyle, and Bell. But if you can win 59 games at Berea, Clay, and 1 year at Harrison then you must have somewhat of a clue as to what to do.

One question for you? Have you went back and looked at who he beat to win those 59 games??

To beat anyone at Berea is good, I don't care who you are playing. Clay is a step above Berea, but there has been alot of bad football at Clay over the years.
