Jonathan Ferguson joins 3000 point club

Featured Replies

Congrats to Jonathan....he's a big time shooter and scorer obviously, and even better kid. Congrats to him, he was in a battle tonight and his 3's sealed any threat of an upset tonight.

Congrats once again, and happy 79th birthday to Dale!

I thought the # would be high, somewhere in the 60's maybe but I decided to let someone else take a shot at what birthday Dale was actually celebrating. What a night to celebrate thanks to Jonathan. Congrats Ferg!

Congrats to Jonthan he is a great scorer as the number says. He is fun to watch!:dancingpa

I'll go out on a limb and guess that there is a connection of some sort.

600+ points per season on average is unreal.

Not really. There are sixteen guy's on Khsaa list that scored over 1000 in a season with the highest being 1734.

Ferguson is online for eight hundred thirty five for this season based on the average he has right now on the high school site and Elliott playing approx. thirteen more games.

Congratulation's Jonathan.

Congratulations to the young man; there's no doubt that this is quite the accomplishment!

Ferg joins an elite club of only 30 players to score 3,000 points in his career. Some of these on the records books date back to the early 50s. Bert Greene's 16th region record has stood over 50 years and will go down shortly by this young man. I have to agree with Gary Ball's (Scholastic Ball Report on WKYT-TV) statement that he is the most prolific scorer in the state of Kentucky.

Also, it is just super that he happens to be a great young man who is so humble and likeable to be around. Young man has a great spirit, positive attitude, and is a polite young man. That is refreshing in these times!!!

Congrads to Ferg on a monumental achievement. Young man you have many successess to follow. We all love ya Ferg and are so proud of you!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DALE!!! IN THE HEAT OF THE GAME I FORGOT LAST NIGHT.

16 out of how many players over the years? I would say that still qualifies as unreal.

8 through 12th grade!!!!!!!!!! I thought it was awesome that he got it today, because it is my birthday!!!!!!!!!!:ylsuper::ylsuper::ylsuper::ylsuper::ylsuper::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::bunny::bunny::bunny::bunny::bunny::dancingpa:jump::jump::jump::jump:

BTW thanks to all of you for the compliments! Jonathan is a great kid and a better man than I ever was or ever will be!!!!!!!!!!

Congrats to Jonathan. Don't sell yourself short Dale, Happy Birthday old man.

What an accomplishment for a fine young man, glad I have had the pleasure to watch him over the years. I can't believe that there are 30 players that have scored over 3,000 points; that blew me away. Go Lions!!! :dancingpa

This is a huge achievement. Congrats to Mr. Ferguson (and the elder Ferguson as well :thumb:)

I'm looking forward to watching the Lions on Thursday night.

BTW, looking at the all-time list makes it hard to deny that Kelly Coleman really is the king of Kentucky high school basketball. How in the world did he manage to score 4,337 points (with no 3-pointers)?:scared:

Congratulation's Jonathan.

16 guys that score over 1000 points in one season is fantastic BUT I agree with earlier poster that 600+ average over a 5 year period is astronomical!!!

Congrats Jonathon

Congrats to a fine young man that has worked his tail off to achieve all he has for his team and himself. He is a leader and a winner, and Dale, you raised that kid right, it shows!

Congratulations on joining an elite club. The numbers for some of those on the list are ridiculous - Ervin Stepp averaged over 50 a game for his junior and senior seasons to get onto the list - you can do the math, but that would have been 1,500 points per season if they played 30 games. I have looked for King Kelly Coleman's complete stats before, but couldn't find them. I think I read once, though, that he came to the Sweet Sixteen once averaging over 50 a game.

Just out of curiousity, anybody got the 5 year stats on Ferg - average and total points?
