I agree...but Goldie, there's a team down there in Winchester that could make a lot of noise come March. They seem to really be hitting their stride lately.

 I think I have heard of them.... Hey we have to get our of our regioin first....wont' be easy the way that Covington Scott, Mason and Montgomery Co are playing now.

I think we've had this discussion before and you know my feelings regarding that topic. :sssh::thumb:

Glad we've finally come to terms on that issue. Good luck to you and EC the rest of the season. Hopefully we meet up at some point down the road in March. :thumb:

We haven't really came to terms on anything because I still think Elliott is the best team in the state. That being said, they have no way to prove that until March, so for the time being I'll have to go with what Holmes is doing on the court. :D

I haven't got to see Elliot this year, but if they have everyone back on a team that gave the state champs all they wanted last year, then they can't be too bad. Scott County will be good, just give them time to play together and mesh. Defending and rebounding must improve for them, Holmes exposed that when they played a few weeks back.

I wouldn't put a lot of stock in this, They have GRC at 8-3 being beat by Mercer Co. who we haven't played much less been beat by. The only rankings that count are after the lights go out and the fans go home at Rupp in March! Elliot may very well be number one then!

Gotta agree with you there. It's kind of comical how some folks get so worked up about rankings; especially when they're not used for anything (i.e. tournament seeds).

They're just something to talk about.

I'm not so sure it's the rankings really. I think that some have difficulty realizing that there those out there who don't necessarily think the same as they do. But, that's good for debate as long as we respect everyones opinion.

The Calpreps itemized ranking summary includes Cov. Cath.'s loss on Monday to Mt. Lebanon, PA but does not include Cov. Cath's victory on Sunday over North Muhlenburg. So...our 126th ranking is waaay low. We shouldn't be a spot below 110.:D Bring on the Bulldogs.:D:D:D

I think that it is humorous to watch everyone get all fired up over a spot or two in the rankings. Almost everyone seems to be in agreement on who the top teams in the state are, but drop them a spot or two in the top ten and the fire starts to fly!

Maxpreps, Calpreps...they're all pretty much a waste of time. They're not even good for a debate.

Then again, maybe that scouting office in Sandy Hook will open soon...

Elliot County has a very good team, but they give an entirely whole new meaning to Blowing out an inferior opponent. We traditionally think of a 30 point blowout as beating someone really bad and a 40 point blowout as destroying a team, but with Elliot County over the last couple years they have beat teams by 50, 60, 70 and even 80 points. This unfortunately for them does not mean that they are the best team in the state, but this year they just might be a cinderella type team that could win it all???? I know I may sound like I dont approve of them beating teams by ungodly amounts of points, but I do like their team and enjoy watching them play very much. Good luck this year!!!!

I'm going to assume that this current bunch at EC is one of the best they've had in a while. Has the coach/AD done anything to get EC in in-state showcase tourneys to play other top KY teams? Have they scheduled any tough out-of-region games?

Other than the All-A, it looks like Anderson Co. and Mason Co. are the only out of region teams remaining on the schedule per the KHSAA scoreboard.

Here we go again. South Charleston and the BBC are not all that weak. Anderson and Mason aint bad. The scrimmages were with Madisonville and GRC. Considering District and Conference requirements, it is not a bad schedule, but it's all been said before, so it really doesn't matter.

I agree but the dead dog will continue to be beat.
