Since I don't get time to post much anymore; here are mine:

 

1. The Professor telling me about the site;

2. Reading some guy named "Farmhands" post who everybody seemed to argue with constantly;

3. Being stunned when the Original Rookie responded to my first post; it worked,

3. Bluto and Mack the Knife discussing movies

4. Frances Bauvier--very smart guy

5. Gametime--I thought he was Andy Kennedy based on his posts and his avatar; I really did,

6. Titletownclown--well, what else needs to be said. He is wasting his time being a CPA and needs to join Saturday Night Live as a regular;

7. Having to be told to stay on topic at least a thousand times or "that's for another thread"

8. All Thumb's death--I saw how close everyone became after posting together and the effect of death and it surprised me.

 

 

These are first, not necessarily best memories. Oldrambler and Civilcat came along a month or two later as well. It all sure has been alot of fun.

 

I am interested if anybody else remembers their first moments or if it is all a blur.

Some of my earlierst ones...

2. Being GT's little follower with Mak

3. BF always pulling jokes on people.

4. Being one of those dumb people who simply tried to pad my post totals.

I remember her as a nursing student but then read BGP classic posts and that she maybe was not. Was she real?

As a reader

 

1) Started reading BGP my senior year of HS to see what people were saying about Dixie's baseball team.

2) Found out many believed that we were no good of a team and wouldn't do much.

3) Reading the reactions when we beat Highlands in regions.

 

As a poster

 

1) Skipping my college classes just to keep up on the sporting world.

2) Trying to aggravate GT only to find out I needed more practice.

3) Documenting another miserable Reds season with the rest of BGP.

 

The rest is a blur.

First Memories:

Being a freshman in High School looking for a website that talked about Kentucky High School sports. I thought Boyle County was the best team in the Kentucky history after beating us twice in the KHSAA State Finals. Then I learned about Trinity, St. X, Highlands, etc... I learned ALOT.

 

Fast forward through my current username:

I don't really remember anything in particular. I think I joined during KHSAA Basketball playoff time.

My very first memories have to do with Oxnard, and they ain't nice. :lol: I thought he was the meanest guy to every associate with X! :lol:

My first memories were of rickyp getting the name "maroon mafia" registered as an entity at the local courthouse and naming himself as CEO. Great times. Check it out in the classic threads forum.

My first memories started before I became a member. PH was in the hospital with his first amputation. The hospital's phone rang a lot. Everytime I answered, a person with a really stange name would be on the other line LOL. Everyone was so nice and sent prayers, cards, flowers and various gifts, that when PH finally came home, I told him that I wanted to become a member. He laughed and told me that that would be great.

 

My first memory being a member was being told that I was a new member in the ChickNation. A-Train always posting those silly pictures in GD was another early memory.

My most embarrassing moments generally consist of me talking about how awesome I am in the third-person, almost Ricky Henderson style, in the HS basketball forums. Unfortunately, those are also my first and best moments as well. :laugh:

 

Another great moment was getting crushed by Hearsay, Fastbreak, GottaRebound, and all the other non-Catholics in my first thread in P&R. I felt so alone. I had to recruit my dad back onto the site (using his name that he made just to show never-ending, unconditional support for Coach L). Then, when a few atheists (and worse- even liberals! ) came along in P&R, and all the conservative Christians started getting along, all of the sudden, rockmom, Getslow, and PepRock suddenly had more time to post :irked:

I also remember the day when Habib gave me a thumbs up. Never thought I'd see the day where he could agree with anyone else :jump:

 

And just a few weeks ago PepRock thanked me for essentially calling him a heartless, amoral person. :lol:

 

I do always remember seeing Mak from across the gym in NewCath's student section and thinking of how I could make fun of him for his posts, but he was a lot bigger than me back then so nothing happen.

Mine was trying to always remember to post as a man. You have no idea how hard that was at times. Lucky for me I had some great BGP friends who fix my post when I messed up. :lol::lol:
