Covington Holmes 70 Scott County 65

Featured Replies

Scott County has a long ways to go before they can be considered a state title contender. This team seems to come out flat every game and has to battle back every game this season. Scott Co. was very lucky to get this game close. If they play like they did tonight they will be 2-5 at the end of the week. You cant beat any team when the shoot almost 50% from long range. On a positive note Scott County did play better defense in the second half. Congrats Holmes.

Do you think there are any teams in the ninth that would want to or be able to press Holmes?

Nope. But tonight showed that there is a potential weakness to be exploited there. Not that anyone in the 9th has the ability to cause as much pressure as Scott did tonight.

Mostly triggered by Manning. Have I mentioned he really impressed me???

Euton is the future of UK basketball?

He wasn't even the second best player on his team tonight nor the top 5 on the court. The last player UK received from Scott County hasn't played in 1/2 the games they have had this year...

No one in 9th Region can stay within 20 points of Holmes. But if someone does, it'll be because they were able to put some pressure on Holmes with a press. Holmes stuggled quite a bit with that tonight.

May the Lord have mercy on your souls Wildcat fans...Go Gators!!!

Very slow-footed, very little vertical jump. It's one thing when you're one of the taller players on the court. He won't be at D1. What possible role would he play for KY?

He was unbelievable. No way Chappy and the boys take that much grief in a regular season 9th region tilt.

One needs to stick a big fat pacifier in his mouth.:argue:

He and Donald Williams can thumb wrestle with ''scratch" the mascot

Would Euton start for Holmes? I really think he would be their second guy off the bennch.

Lets remember that the real issue is not Euton. The real issue is the fact that BCG offered a scholarship. Euton is what he is and like all of us he would take the scholarship.

Finally I get someone who agrees with me about Euton. I've been saying it since last season when he was still with Rose Hill.

He should play football, no talent that I've seen yet.

Let me preface this by saying I was not at all impressed with Euton. However, we do have to understand (those of us who just saw him for the first time that is) that this kid is supposed to be a good shooter. If he makes half of those threes tonight we probably say OK that kid can shoot the ball. I would still question him being an SEC player. He's way too slow to guard anyone at that level of basketball, and he's virtually just a setup shooter. I was struggling with whether or not he could play at NKU.

Euton is a great kid. He works his tail off to get better. He is a D1 talent. Just not a major D1 talent, and it's a coaches job to know for sure if he's going to take a commitment from a sophomore...

I did see BCG talking to Bezold. Maybe they were talking about a trade???
